From: Anya Ristow It'd be nice if the ban lines would automatically turn off when nobody on the access list is even present. Actually, that's fairly easily done with a script, as long as the access list (or ban list) can be stored (ideally) in a notecard for the script to get at. There must exist inexpensive or free products that do that. (If not, I should be able to throw one together.)

I took at look at the LSL wiki the other day and the ban list/temp pass functions are limited only to adding/removing to the list, not actually retrieving the list. This needs to be jira'd for more effective security scripts, and other applications.

Yep... hence the need I mentioned for the list to actually be maintained in a notecard (ideally... though it could just be in script memory).

If you have control of your land, you can always set a landing point outside the house and only allow tps to the landing point. I've always been amazed at how often when I teleport to a sim that someone has the tp point set inside their home. Hard to avoid ending up in their living room when they do that.

Ooh I didn't even think of that. I like to TP right in my home.I'm lazy But if it stops people from popping in my living room and I get to take the ugly ban lines down,I'll do it. BTW the people tp'ing in my house are complete strangers to me. I just recently bought the land,so it may be still listed. Thanks!

It's called, Ctrl-Shift-H (teleport home). Set home wherever you like inside your house. Set the landing point somewhere else for visitors. I have a skybox with a landing point on the ground. People are free to tp onto the land, but they have to fly up to find the box if they want to explore. But beware of security orb!

Sometimes when you tp to a sim you get thrown to one of the set tp points. There was a sim where only 1800s British homes were allowed. I tped to the sim to have a look, was thinking as a potential place to buy land, and ended up in someone's living room, they had a security orb with a 6 second fuse. Got sent home. Could not tp into that sim without that happening, had to tp to the sim next door and fly over. Tried to tp to the sim next door to my home sim once when the home sim appeared to be down. Most of the nextdoor sim is water (an Openspaces sim) but ended up again in someone's living room, they were sitting there. Before I knew what happened they'd ejected me. I had no desire to tp to their living room, wanted to go to the open water, but...

I just fixed it. Now I won't be known as the anti-social noob.

From: Nina Stepford claim? wtf are you on about 'claim'? you love to reduce everything to 'rights'. you also have the right to allow public passage thru your primland as well. since you choose not to, i can assume the only reason is because you just like being a cunt. LOL say that 2x Nina

From: Raymond Figtree Calling someone a cunt, a knob and a total fucking dick is not necessary here to get your point across. Please save that kind of rude talk for ad cutters. but what if the person IS a cunt or a knob or a total fuckin dick?

From: Strife Onizuka Can we keep things on topic, this isn't the forum for discussing the politics and ethics of ban lines.
