Am I being greifed? I need help, AV account is unsuable right now...

I am getting messages to my character from an object owned by "someone" who's name I cannot post for fear of naming names. The object spams me with random numbers, from a randomly numbered Linden.

and it's in green text. Help me now.. I've AR'd them, but I cannot use my SL account, and this will surely put me out of business. Help?

Yes, your case seems to share some characteristics with a known griefer attack that took place a few hours ago.

What do you mean you can't use your account? You can't log on?

If I log in, my chat is spammed with that green text, I'm in live help now. Kudos to Sejong, who is being most helpful in live chat

I just got griefed in Loepa by huge prim boxes. Seems to be going around today. I had fun returning all the boxes to that person's inventory and AR'ing him/her. *grins evilly*

He must be a very busy man right now, because I've just talked to him via 'live-chat' also, and when I logged back in, my hud along with all of my no-copy animations...were back in my inventory.....

It is very, very upsetting to me, because I've done nothing to anyone. I"m a loner...and I live and let live.


I've turned off email to IM, and still getting spammed from SL. This is unacceptable. Someone wants me out of SL, and I dunno why.


You know, I dont need this. I have a son just diagnosed with autism, and 8 year old daughter who's discovering lying, a 15 year old daughter who's starting college, and a husband who's changing jobs, in denail about the son's autism, and my health isn't good.

What the *** did I ever do to deserve this...not a GD thing.

Danielle they are doing it to tons of people. I don't think they are targeting you personaly, they are just ***holes who use a system to grab your avie Key and that is how they get your name. I am truly sorry to hear about the stress in your life. SL should be without this crap so you can relax some.

Try to find the object spamming you or at least the name of the object, then type it in the "Mute" list under "View" at the top of the screen. Mute the object, then log out. Log back in, then Unmute it. This worked for me and my husband when our email was spammed by their object two weeks ago.

it would be easy if it was one object, but it seems the object changes its name every time it sends a message...I have the whole transcript in my spam filter. So unless I can ban at least 60 objects a second with a random number generator, I aint doin more than just typing a lot for nothing. It is also changing locations now.

I'm sorry, that sucks Danielle. The group seems to be stepping up their griefing methods. There's a JIRA on one of their methods, someone at the Lab is working on it, but doesn't help much right now.

everyone in SL has a story about stress in RL, and I would say the majority get griefed and say exactly the same thing you did, why me?

follow up, yet again, they got my email from my profile...hope this doesn't kill what lil business I had, but anyway...griefed at the rate of 500 emails a minute at least on 2 email addresses.


Sejong? he's very calm and nice and polite, and kept me calm through our hour of conversation. and Elle was very helpful too. SL live chat is very, very helpful and comforting. Without "going there" withe me, they were very concerned, asked good questions, and gave good answers.

but still, feels very personal, and after the day I had RL....SL is supposed to be fun.

I stood up for someone's right to say their opinions. And that's why I got greifed.

Free speech. I guess it only counts for those...well...I dunno...anyway...just prooves to me that the world is a sucky place.

You had your email address in your profile? Or they have a way to get it through our profiles?

I am guessing from this statement you now know who is doing it and getting it cleared up?

Danielle, can you get a new email addy and NOT put it in your profile for the time being? put it in a notecard in objects you sell.

as for RL, you don't even know the gift you've been handed. autism is not a scary, evil curse, nor a disease. it just is a way of life. and when you learn the skills that come with being the parent of a special needs child, you'll be ever so grateful for the experience, and blessing.

i know it seems a dark cloud now, you wait and see. pride will take command soon enough. i don't know why in the world your husband would turn his back on it. it's not like you have a choice, or that he's a failure or anything. 1-500 children are diagnosed with autism currently, and i expect that number to become even greater (say 1-400) within just a few short years. there are plenty of programs, even public school, that have all sorts of helps and tips and actual systems set up to teach you how to teach him to transition. it could be worse - he could've been born missing limbs or have CP or even downes syndrome.... or worse, be ED. count your lucky stars it's a manageable condition.

My main email was in the SL support thing as my contact, and I had IM's to email, but then I had my business email in my profile...they nailed both. Even after 2 times blacklisting the objects in sl, and banning the owner, they're still flooding my email addresses..both of them.

and 3...oh, oh my god, I know...I passed into acceptance when he (monkey boy) was bout 15 months...but hubby, it's so hard for guys, all he can say is "idiot son"...if he had been a girl child itwouldn't be as bad....my son, he's amazing, he's very intelligent, he just sees the world so differently.....a shame the world won't see him for what he is...only for what he is not.but ...anyway, 3..thanks...really today just wasn't the day to greif me...

and I gotta get up r/l in 4 hours and do it all over again.

autism does not equal idiot. your husband is an idiot if he treats his own child like that. that makes me MAD that he would say that about a baby, especially his own child. i'd kick him right in the groin if i heard him say it around me! that's only going to make things worse for everyone, and he's a fool for being closed-minded and unsupportive. shoot, depending on the level he is on the spectrum, he might grow up to be a tremendoudly productive adult. one track minds = success in the workplace!

now, go get some new emails and get some sleep.

This greifing was because I said on SLX forums that someone had a right to her opinion, whether or not it was the popular one.

Now I'm a target. Squashing free speech is not noble, it's ignorant. Squashing human rights is not cool and sexy, it's stupid and childish.

Please, if you get greifed, report it. report it everywhere you can.

he is not the only man with a sordid, twisted, dysfunctional or traumatic background and problem. i have seen much worse act much better. all the men i know with sepcial needs kids are stepping up to the plate and not only not belittling their precious child, but loving them unconditionally and doing everything in their power to make the lives of their child and families better. sorry you married such a loser. it should not be like that.
