Starting a new second life? :)

Yes my AVI is new, but I am not a newbie to SL...but have questions anyhow. No I am not begging for lindens, but haha I won't stop you from sending me some to get started. Anyhow...Been away for a while, decided to get back in to second life. I had some ties with a few people, including 2 people that I was partnered with and a girlfriend I left abruptly. I just basically poofed and that was it.

Should I try to get in touch with some of the people I use to know, or should I just start all over again. Mind you some people know one another and of course news travels fast in SL. Starting from scratch seems frustrating, but in the same sense refreshing. Anyhow had a similar experience?

I wonder if your partner that you "poofed" on will welcome you back with open arms?

I didn't leave a partner, just a girlfriend. Real life issues came up and I had to tend to them. You are more than welcome to watch. I miss my inventory the most.

Many things have changed in SL I am sure, and people move on. Don't want to start a mess, I just want to have fun and enjoy the environment for what it is. I am posting on this forum already, and haven't even signed on to SL with my new account yet! Now I have to wait...what one month to work?

Actually, your ex-girlfriend might be helped by an explanation of why you left. No doubt she's moved on, but may appreciate getting some closure on the subject.

just start over. don't try to cling to the past. make a fresh break. it will be better for all. don't lie, though, if you run into any of them and they guess.

forgot the poofed on girlfriend part - if still have access to that other account, send a note using that other account.

In all seriousness I don't know what kind of advice you are looking for...If I had to leave sl due to rl I would tell all those I care about in sl that I wont be around for a while and if I was lucky enough to come back in world, I would pick up with my same avie.

I know some people that have started "over again" But to me and this is just MY view.. thats like "cheating" I hate giving up and will keep slogging away at something until I get it perfect

Your old friends and "just a girlfriend" have most likely long since moved on...... Whatever you decide, have fun and good luck

Accounts canceled, but I think you got the right idea. My week will including refining a shape, camping for lindens, and exploring.

How long ago was this? Can't you go in and transfer all the trans perms inventory items to your new avie?

You keep this up and I'm going to make you my best friend and shopping buddy!!! I was in deep, 8+ hours a day...DJing job, owned land, my best friend of 8 months was now my girlfriend. Easier to start a new SL then a new RL I guess. Just thinking about how much fun I had has me all excited again.

I actually "canceled" the account and canceled the email address I used for the account as well as my skype account. It's just completely blown away

Hmmm. I wouldn't tell the world, because it sounds like you don't really want to pick up where you left off. But, if you are planning to go back to some of the old hangouts or activities you used to do, you might run into your old friends. If you do, I personally recommend coming clean immediately - to meet them as another avatar and not tell them would be just creepy.

Also, if your old girlfriend is any sort of sensitive or caring type, you might want to get an apology to her, particularly if you can do so as your old identity. I'm sure she's moved on, but at the time she had no way of knowing whether you'd died or she offended you somehow, and may have worried greatly.

edit: oic your old identity is gone. well, if you have her email you could create a yahoo account with a derivative of your old name, and contact her that way.

I do understand you on all levels. She could have been concerned, etc...even if she moved on. No intentions of tricking people I have known if I run in to them. For so many uses you tend to run in to people even still. I don't want to be creepy...not spying, not tricking, nothing like that. There are some screwed up people in SL, I've known a few...that's just down right wrong.

Well it is Halloween isn't it? *evil laughs* So what all do you guys do for fun in SL now? I am hearing something about a sculptured prim, no more gambling, things are going to be a lot different. No more sploders? !

My avi is going to be more realistic based, not asian, or goth or emo or furry. Just a hot stud of a man living it up.

Look to the future and forget about the past. If you do run into them,just be honest and apologetic. I wouldn't go looking for them though.IMO.

You can now be officially rated as a slut by Trout Recreant (if you're a woman) or Carli Dancer (if you're a man). Send snapshots of your avi in lurid poses, and you'll get a rating from 1 to 10, with 1 being a nun and 10 being Paris Hilton level of sluttiness. I don't think there's ever been a perfect 10 awarded yet.

Re-entering your old second life--whatever diaspora of it you can find--would pretty much remove the meaning of "fresh start." My guess is that if your old friends take SL seriously enough to care that you're back, you're likely headed for another extended hiatus before long.

Hahah thanks for the encouragement. In a few months when I escort my newb avi out for lindens and get my avi up to snuff with what I want, I would be more than happy to post pictures for being rated lol. As the saying goes, i will be "All that and a bag a chips with the dip".
