Joy of joys.

My friend arrived at the club quite late last night. Instead of dancing, she walked around looking at things. I enquired if she was ok - she was fine !

The actions mean nothing to the casual observer, but I was very pleased !

I didn't stay long, as I was off to a bikini party (my joke code meaning I am off to have wild fun !). The friend I was meeting took me seriously, and arranged for us to go to the beach !!!

I missed the orientation
06-18-2008 06:20
Just saw this thread and I too, missed the orientation island in 2007, because i was on dial up!! I tried for days trying to get it ot work, but crashed several times and never built anything that i could see! After gingto my details and specs, makig sure my comp was ok, i found it want the comp specs, it was the dial up, its said "dial up not supported"....I was really gutted i wasnt able to use SL, and just forgot obout it, but suddenly we moved, and found a way to get braod band at xmas 2007.

But unfortunetly, i was taken an unknown area when i first arrived on bradband the progam skipped my orientation and plonnked me in somewhere i didnt know about, but imanaged to get back to help island, but still took weeks to find out basic movements althuogh im used to comps since 1998, i only found out how to remain in the air by pressing page up and page down many weeks after i joined, unfortnetly a new friend, who is still my best m8 took me to "free Dove" and even gave me some lindens to buy a hair style, i was still wearing the newbie hair!! Freebie warehouses are also great places to learn how to fly about, see whats in content boxes, how to pay, if need be....and use telepads 4 the fisrt time!!!

Some people who are not dextrous with there fingers , like my wife, who cant type or use a keyboard to save her life and hasnt played games on a comp will find movement difficult to control, we have all got stiff fingers im sure trying to turn a pic or object round and sdjusting shape and texture, Just think how a newbie would get on, who not used to using a keyboard.

Amazingly, some people once they get the hang of it, will be away, and along with that an increased confidence in doing things in SL will make it more enjyable so very best of luck to her and get her to make some sl pals, they can help in so many ways!!

regards

mich
