Issue with skirts in the new viewer?

I started a new thread too, dang it.

But I'm *not* apologising for starting a new thread. Everyone should start new threads, reply to the old ones and fill https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2778 with comments until the Lindens stop counting the cash and GET IT FIXED.

In the meantime - DONT BUY anything. Sorry clothes retailers - but lets have you screaming to get this fixed too.

All that does is clutter up the boards for the rest of us. The Lindens do not ready these forums regularly.

But yeah its not going to directly accomplish anything. Cept maybe produce a long list of prim skirts you could buy as an alternative.

Yes, I am havng the same issue. Its the reason I gave up on the windlight viewer in the first place. Now its mandatory lol. Great.

Also, it seems I am having a problem wearing the jacket layer. It just doesnt appear and wont show as worn in my inventory. frustrating to say the least, especially when a lot of my tops are usually worn on the jacket layer

1.19 viewers are mandatory, but you can still use the last non-Windlight build, 1.19.0.5. There's a link to it one of the blog posts.

An interesting observation: This issue seems related to asset corruption. I ran some tests with my account and a few alts. Some things that work fine for my main are impossible for my alts. One in particular can reproduce the skirt issue 100% of the time, with a free skirt that I also own and that works perfectly for me...

Haven't read all the entries, so apologies if someone has already written this.

I tried the rebaking process...iti did not work for me, *unless* done in a previous version of SL, which was a pain. But, it did work.

However, what was suggested to me was to go into edit appearance mode and *then* add the skirt. Skirt stayed on!! No more invisible skirts. Worked like a charm with all my system skirts. Yay!

I just had the system skirt bug hit me and I tried everything, it just will not stay on

look funny in my undies, nylons and top but no skirt...

so is there an open jira on this? It pretty much puts me out of business if system skirts are broken.


the remedy noted in this thread doesn't work for me. old skirt, new skirts, any skirts.

Great. They really are trying to put an end to all small business in SL aren't they? I wonder which design houses are LL employees in disguise?

Has anyone else got the mental image of the asset server making horrible noises, shaking violently and blowing smoke everywhere whilst Lindens desperately rush around to fix the problem before it goes *critical*?

No. I see them sitting around, eating falaffel and someone says, "Dude. You hear somethin?"

QFT!...and the other person says "Dude, Yes..Starbucks is doing a two for one, lets go!"

I plan to forget I have a wardrobe and just wear what I've got on for the rest of my SL days.

The room is probably already too full of smoke to notice a smoking asset server.

Thanks to a previous post ( thank you!) I've found that I can now consistently put on any skirt by going to appearence, taking it off and putting it back on. I say that because all mine are within complete outfits, so I 'replace outfit' and therefore automatically 'wear' the invisible skirt. It would actually be slightly quicker if you werent 'wearing' the skirt in the first place.

However this will not necessarily survive a tp and it will not help once you've taken that skirt off for any reason. But at least I can now wear my favourite outfits.

To restate the obvious - this is not satisfactory. How fast do you think Linden would have fixed this if it were trousers, not skirts? Should we have a poll on this? lol

It's actually a good idea. I am QUITE sure LL never wants to look sexist.

I ignored this thread until now. I didn't have the problem...until last night. It started while I was using the RC viewer.

But it shows up in the main 1.19.1.4 viewer too, WITH the Nicholaz EC-e patch. Damn.

I too have had a lot of customers with this problem - rebake then appearance to force it has worked for all of them i think - just as Rebel so rightly said - the only other thing that I was informed of was if it doesnt work its possible that the problem is to do with the sim you first wore it on so the rebake has to be done on a different sim ( from where the texture was initially rezzed) this is just what someone passed on to me.

it has worked for me to rebake, then go into appearance mode and rebake, then rebake once back out of appearance mode.

sometimes this process can take 10 tries. but all my skirts work.
