Looks like i was wrong...
That's weird, i would have thought it would be off by default for the Everybody role.
*scratches head*
so, um, yeah.. what the others said. you would have to go in and change Everybody apparently. (we should make a Jira for that!)

From: Imogen Panacek would co-owners get it? only my friend made his sl wife along with some other friends co-owners. Yes they will get paid. I'm pretty sure you can't change that for owners either, nor can you remove them from the role of owner, nor remove them from the group. Teh moral being, don't make others group-owners.

Teh moral being, don't make others group-owners. Yes thats why you get a huge box filling half your screen when you try to make others owners ... saying ARE YOU SURE? ARE YOU REALLY REALLY SURE? DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO; PLEASE READ I dont know what more LL can do though, to make people read, I do however know they could uncheck pay liablitities/recieve dividents more clear ... ref this tread (currently 2 places up) about the oposite, yet the same: /327/cf/357752/1.htmlYou couldnt be more right Dick.

You cannot change the status of another owner, or remove them from the group. The only way they can be removed from owner status is if THEY voluntarily remove themselves from that status. So if your friend, his wife, and their other friends are owners, they WILL receive a share of the proceeds. You will have to ask them to pay you back the money.
Regarding the "everyone" (and the "officers" category, if you assigned it to anyone) category, check and be sure the pay/receive dividends and liabilities box is unchecked, or they will receive a share of the proceeds as well. As a group owner you have the power to do this, and you should do it IMMEDIATELY.
What I do when forming a group and deeding land is to create an alt that I own, and make myself and my alt the only two group owners (a group must have at least two members or LL will close the group). That way the group will not get closed on me if other members leave, and any proceeds or charges will only be applied to me and my own alt. I turn off the check box in the other categories about pay/receive dividends and liabilities, so that ONLY the owner pays and receives them. This is the safest way to hold group-deeded land. Group members are in the "everyone" category" and I go through the check boxes and give them very limited powers.
Hope it works out ok for you.

Next time you sell land deeded to a group, sell it to yourself for 0l first. Then set to sell to the public when it is in your name alone.

The best reason for making the alt a co-owner rather than just any other role is so they can invite you back to the group if it is not open enrollment and you accidentally hit that damn 'leave group' button. /me knows this from experience

Yes. 1) Withdraw the tier required from group donation. The group will go into negative tier - more land owned than covered by donations - but that's ok for a while. 2) Buy the land.

It's not too bad, if you are going to go over tier limit you'll get a warning, if you're not going to go over tier limit you'll be asked if you want to remove x amount of donations to the group.
