I am a the hang out now.Just checked my height and I am 6ft 10ins.I thought I was shorter because most of the females I see are taller than me.

In SL I'm about 6' I think...not sure exactly. I keep changing my height depending on my av.
If I go smaller I get sick of the grief and also of having to adjust every single prim item...I also end up looking dwarf by chairs etc lol.
In RL I'm 5'6'' ish. again not sure on the exact measurement lol, not had a reason to see in a while.

Its interesting when you look at the height ratio between RL and SL. I go taller in SL, but my sister is over 6' in RL, I let her mess with my avvie once and she immediately made her much shorter....then messed with the rest of it. She hates being so tall in RL so much she made the avvie shorter.

You know you've been in SL too long, when a sig like that pops up and the first thing that comes to mind is "furry ageplay". (=_=)y

7' tall by prim, and still shorter than a lot of my friends. I occasionally contemplate shrinking her down a bit, but it somehow makes her less 'Ann' when I tinker with her shape. *shrug*

It gives both Agent and prim height of any av in target distance, AND can be set to announce it publicly, which would probably be helpful to five foot-something avs who are harassed for being 'child avs' in more mature areas.

It's slightly cheaper in-world at 50L.

I've just installed a measuring scale based height gadget at the Forum Hangout (on the platform bit at the east end of the building). All you need to do is stand under the green circle and use the arrows to adjust it to match your height. Then click the green circle for a readout in cm and feet & inches. Bin it if it's in anyone's way or causing problems.

That's the surreal part of it all. I'm usually the same height as Toy had mentioned earlier. Something like 3'11" to 4'4" depending on how you measure. And, what I get, regardless of where I'm at, is comments on how cute I am. Okay, maybe I've stayed away from the most extreme "mature" content areas, or I'm just not looking for it, but... Still... Here's the odd part.... (>_>

My tall AV is more around 5'8" to 5'10" and much more mature in facial features. The shape has breasts, probably B-cup or so. But, in the same and similar places that I just mentioned above, I get inundated with IMs like "A little taller please." and "I hope that AV is supposed to be 18." (O_O)

And I'm like, What the heck? I've been running around here as a jailbait kid in a leather strap outfit or shredded jeans and a tank top and I don't get "boo". I show up looking like a much more modestly dressed college dropout and suddenly someone cries "ageplay". (>_<

So... Like... What? Is there some window of height that's difficult to accept in SL? It's like, too short is okies... Too tall is okies... But a cool medium is reason for suspicion. (=_=)

I've had it happen with a friend... I was in full jailbait dress, even a little nip-slip and stuff, she normally has a teen shape and was dressed in her maid uniform. Some total stranger comes by and IMs me with a warning "be careful associating yourself with those types." as if she's the trouble maker! She's a friggin' angel compared to me, and yet, the suspicion lands on her? GAH! *inhale* ... *exhale* (=.=)

I dunno... I think a lot of stuff should be given the unimportance it deserves. I like to harass people in good clean fun and all. Heh... I just poked fun at a megatall avatar last night... I forgot her name, but she's here on the forum. It's just silly what people take seriously though. I've been using my biggie shape a lot lately... It's been a nightmare. (=_=)

Well, that IS all pretty odd, but I'd guess that the medium height probably leaves people unclear of your 'status.' Tall avs are safe and, if you're kid-height, they know it's definitely a no go; that moderate height, on the other hand, could conceivably go either way.

I tink yer onto someting, 'cuz I've heard a lotta stories of people facin troubles over mid-range heights.

I used to be 6'9". Since my shape is no mod, I contacted the creator and asked for a shorter shape. I'm 6' even now, and much happier.

That's not for measuring you, silly. You're supposed to rez it around pink plastic pipes and snicker.

I was actually copying the yardstick and piling them up next to me. Okay, please don't laugh. I was miserable at math and computers when I went to school. My teachers cried with relief when I left.

My avatar is short; not as short as kid avs but shorter than just about every grown woman av I've ever met, save one or two. I come out on height detectors (like the Garrett height detector at the hangout) usually around 5'8" and 5'10". These numbers don't mean the same thing in SL as they do in RL.

I've never been taken for a kid av, though; I think that's because my avatar is a little pudgy- er, curvy, and just clearly has a grown-woman shape, even if a short one.

One woman I am thinking of whose avatar is considerably shorter than mine is also even rounder and curvier than I - to my knowledge she also has never been taken for a child avatar and anyone who did would be very confused indeed. There is nothing child-like about her appearance, at all.

In those halcyon days when nuns roamed the prairies freely and in great numbers, people understood the use of a good yardstick, knew its power, respected it, feared it. Now it is a mere scrap of wood, a passing curiosity of no value. Oh how I weep for humanity!

When I was just 19 a real bf asked me if I wanted to "make a telephone call on his banana" - my blank expression exasperated him. Sometimes I'm a bit slow on teh uptake. Pink plastic pipes! Lol!

I would get the same thing, I first tried to make my Av my RL height of 5'1" but people would keep asking if I was an escapee from the Teen Grid, or worse. .. got tired of the constant questions so grew over time and now stand about 6'6" ... which seems about average for a female here in SL .

Besides its tough being a 5'1" Vampire... had a heck of a time reaching necks!

I am a bit of a klutz in real - but dont be scared, I think I know which is first gear (or is that reverse?) - I drive an MG in real so you may have a white knuckle ride with me.

That's almost to the last digit my height, too...in RL as well (I fiddled with the height slider until I got my RL height). And yes, I sometimes feel like a dwarf. I have also had comments such as "you are too short, I can help you adjust that". Why thanks, I am short on purpose....

True, I'm tall irl and fem, I'm an even taller fem in $L,
but it's my character, just like my shorter friends,
who are pixies, faes, imps, Tinys and demon kid avies who are also characters.
I don't point or hate on them for being short.
