For fun, I took some piccies of a couple of my personal faves:

* Avarian Troll: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270696
* Pillowgryff: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270705
* Corra Nacunda: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270699
* Magic Tome: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270706
* Butterfly: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270710
* Doll: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=270711

(Yes, I do shop at Grendel's Children a lot, why do you ask?)

This one, however, remains my personal favorite:

Marianne would kill me if she knew how much kid avies use to freak the hell out of me when I was new. Literally. Then I was shopping and a group of boys, almost 10 of them were hanging out in a little shopping park showing off their wands to a another boy. I love those wands, never had one and prob have never seen all they can do. So I was getting to see too hehe!
They were well done avies, were totally enjoying themselves, like some modern day Little Rascals. I kept waiting for them to be mean, going from the little boys of summer to wise cracking adults, but nope, they noticed me, were very nice, didn't pay me any mind, one gushed on blushing saying hi to me.
Personally I have no need to relive my tomboy days of climbing trees, tying a towel around my neck shirtless and staying out after the street lights came on or be some ones' little princess, I hate pink and everyday is Xmas w/ my RL.
But after that I could see how some could enjoy being a kid in SL w/o it being anything else.

Naw, I wouldn't. I found it kinda weird when I first joined SL too.

I got better. ;-)

Nice pics, Mari! You make a cute Pillowgryff :)

I also have the crow, It was the 1st (non-human) av I got. I don't know if it's for sentimental reasons, but it's still my favourite. Just love being a crow.

Ya, I feel th' same way about dat one, too. Plus then me an my inworld sister get to be crow girls sometimes.

Thankoo about th' pillowgryff. I like dat one lots.

I actually have many others (including that "adult me" that showed up on 4/1), those are some of my faves. But it's rare anyone sees me in any others than, well, me. :-)

This primitive wolf/werewolf like character, hairy, black, and with arms dragging the ground as he loped along.

He was a neat guy, too.

I have been told one of the avatars i had customised together was the best avatar they have ever seen. Its a demon with spikes all around him,horns, dark long hair, a big black cape with a bone sword, all black clothing, with sauron's eyes from lord of the rings, and a partly skull face. the skin is dark.

the best avatar i have seen so far, um...im not sure. i have seen many around.
one of my friends had an avatar from grendal's, was this judgement guy. had all armor silver, when typing it would extend his hand and a book of judgement would appear.

it could form wings and glow out light. was pretty cool

One of the Lindens has a very real looking gargoyle avatar - looks like actual weathered stone and is quite small - it is awesome.

My current and most favorite Avatar is Dark Dhrama's Asian baby.
I usually wear the skin and hair, but I rarely wear all the that came with the outfit, i.e the shape and tiny prim parts.
