Has anyone ever successfully created an avatar to represent how you look in the real world? Currently my main bard avatar looks nearly identical to me.. =)

What are tinies? Is that like the very small people avatars? Like almost gnome sized?

Generally very small animal avatars...about knee high on standard avs. VERY cute:

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Was anyone around when I was doing the chicken dance at the hangout as a fossil bird skeleton?

:o
I thought it was the remains of Thanksgiving dinner.

There's a tiny white ferrit that I've seen in the welcome areas who seems to be pulling a couple of wagons. Very, very cute - wish I had a picture! He's kinda rude, though.

Colton Linden has a really unique look. Somewhat Dickensian, but with marionette strings.

Very! I've only seen this one once, briefly, but was quite impressed. Think I got a bear from Colton too and it's one of the best I've seen. Jon's jellotar is also a favorite.

Daniel was just plain funky. http://www.flickr.com/photos/taotakashi/491009011/

edit: Colton Linden picture.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tarynlondon/2341105265/ . The strings holding him up are particles chains - the picture really doesn't do him justice.

Especially the hedgehog ones, which are NOT for eating.

Yup. I found it disturbing.

At GG and Claire's party the other day - was it Isabeau in the teeny dragon? That was awesome :)

Yes, t'was me! I can't take credit, though. Eren Padar makes awesome 'Dwagons' that you can customize.

Tooter Claxton also makes some really funny avs. My personal fave from him is the 'Picassa' one.

It took me a long time to find a purple skin, but I finally did not too long ago (not inworld, but if anyone's searching for one, just IM me and I'll tell you where).

I love Maede's av - she flew by the hangout once, and I was lucky enough to see her. Mahdu also has a wonderful av, she really made it her own. Wearing different skins and avatars when the mood hits me is what I love the most about SL. Tinies, giants, furry or hairless, and even metallic - there are so many choices out there, I could never be able to pick just one.

*EDIT* Grrr...Sorry, I forgot to change accounts... It's me, Isabeau Imako! hehe

:)

If I was flying, it was probably an Anubis Dragon from IoW.

There are black and white freebie skins at La Sylphide...they're pretty nice.

That's the one. Wow! Love it.

Crazod's white LLama is sooooo cute (I think it was Crazod, could have been Soji).

I also have a cyborg av I dismantled. You don't have to limit yourselves with only mix and matching clothing. Taking parts of different avs and adding stuff of your own can also be lots of fun, but everyone must try at least once being,

a bird - Flying as a bird or dragon 'feels' different than as a human,
a tiny - I swear, your personality changes,
a quadruped - (Warning, you may never change back).

I can drop a lm on you in world (can't recall the name of it now) but I happened onto a place that truly has off-the-wall AVs. One of them is a beautiful little fishbowl all decorated.

I have an AV from there called "Be the Grid" which is like being a transparent person - can just see my heart pumping; another one IS a pumping heart that poofs tiny hearts when typing; and my third from there is a tiny sphere that reminds me a bit of R2D2.
Can I have the LM too? ty!

And, of course, everybody loves a Dalek! There's a free one at NCI, but I bought one in a great color that has specially obnoxious gestures .

I want an LM too please!!!! /me jumps up and down ---- and also to the black and white skin...?? pretty please...

The skin I am wearing i the fae pic I THINK may have been purchased from Wraith Unsung - it was at the same place I saw different shades of same color skin and was going to go get the one I would use on the black and white character.

I like the Dead Avis don't Wear Plaid suggestion... but I was thinking more along the lines of Bogie and Bacall... "you know how to whistle don't you?"

/me stands up nervously in front of the room full of variously adorned non-human avs. "My name is Ty Gabe, and I am a Grendel's-a-holic."

Another vote for the gecko av. So much fun in a crowd. Recently picked up the gelotinous cube av which is good for a lot of laughs.

My "social" alt was out shopping for a super-heroes theme night one time and found a really awesome Buzz Lightyear av. I still haven't managed to convince him that he is just a toy. :-)

Sure Meade - but I confess I have a romantic streak you could drive a semi through- so all my avis have a certain flair or flavor to them... hard to see Mr. Martin as a romance figure - other than Cyrano- and I would prefer keeping my girlie nose :)

Something I haven't seen, but would like to - a fish avatar. I could totally get into that... and they're probably out there.

I have a fish avatar LOL

I have a lot of different ones which makes it hard to pick a fav.
obviously a fav would be one of my own, why else would I buy them LOL

I have a demon, cat, dog, dragon thing, tiny fairy, smurfette, speedy gonzalis (spelling is wrong) a plant like thing, numerous human looks, a duck, a fish, a penguin, god I forget the rest, there are more LOL

The best AV I've seen? Oh boy, that's a tough one. Soji and Crazod have so many....

Was it Crazod or was it Soji as the dancing chest of drawers? That's my current favorite. And the drawers were clickable!! (ok that just sounds..wrong)

Oh, awesome - I remembered seeing waterbugs and mers but couldn't recall seeing any fish. I'll have to drop by and see what's new. It has been a while.

Oh, yes, please! That would be terrific. Though, judging by the response later in the thread, you may want to post it here in the forum as well.

Thanks!
