The best for me have been a wearwolf, and a very tiny dog avatar. He wasn't a furry (like not a humanoid), just a tiny dog. That was so cool.. Since i'm new to SL since last thursday I haven't seen many, but I do predict when seasons come avatars will match them (like I expect to see lots of skeletons and such at halloween). Not to mention I like my bard avatar (I hold a playable mandolin and such too). What avatars did you like that you remember?

Oh man, you need to hang out at the Place The Must Not Be Mentioned to see some of the most fantastic AVs out there. Check out the Flickr page. Let's see... Crazod and Marcel as flying books Rioko as a pink mermaid Some weird-ass black smoke thing Claire as the little old lady. Soji as the little old man knitting socks. A bunch of people duking it out as Starbucks coffee cups The harpies A rock that rolls and bounces instead of walks Bodhi's robot pickle I could list a dozen more My fave? Yisroel

From: Cen Dagger What avatars did you like that you remember? A lot of what Flea Bussy makes. I love Fleas Dragons. I also got a "Corra Nacunda" from her -- an anthropomorphic raven -- that is amazing. The HUD that goes with has so many cool options! Memnoch, who also does stuff at Avaria but who's last name I forgot, has a really amazing giant demon avvie that isn't for sale. I saw Flea in it at the concierge thing. It was one of the most amazing avvies I've ever seen. Colton Linden has a reall unique look. Somewhat Dickensian, but with marionette strings. Overall, though, I like ones that look unique, where you can tell someone spent some time making them "their own," whether it's jes a human like me, or someting unusual an exotic. Mari

I have three that I enjoy wearing on occasion - my favorite is the lion from Grendels. It has a great animation hud, I especially love to swipe. Hehe
I also have a gecko from Grendels - Love that one too, and I always get lots of attention wherever I go when I wear the lizard.
My tiny ferret. Hee! I love my tiny and all of my tiny gestures. I get pretty cocky when I'm wearing the tiny ferret.

I'd have to say any one that Crazod owns. They are always pretty unique and most of the time just downright strange. It's one of the highlights of my day when I see him, just so I can guess what the hell he is. Last night he was a giagantic something. Not sure what it was actually. But it was about 25m tall and ugly! hehe.

I have to agree with Brann - so many great ones have passed through the Cartel Hangout I can't even begin to list them but certainly Soji and Crazods whole inventory stand out.
Is it Crazod that has that giant Bumblebee? I love that one!

The most impressive I've seen was a large steel and brass winged dragon I met in a sandbox once. I guess it's OK to name names, it was called Be Baraka, who I don't think is resident of SL any more. Not sure if he/she created the dragon - I had a flight on its back - so I guess it was a cross between an avatar and vehicle!

oh man I have seen so many awe inspiring avies, a friend of mine, a guy prob has the best. But I couldn't pick just one, 'coz I've seen tops in most "themes"? genres?
*edit* I think too how an avie handles a look is part of it too, their aos, their stances, playing it up like 2nd nature and! totally enjoying it is cool to observe, interact w/

I have a lot of snapshots of interesting avatars that I've seen browsing my store. Just the other day I snapped two cool ones within a half hour: a pair of identical giant spiders browsing together and a crazy cyborg thing.

My two favorite avatars I've ever seen, are consequently the ones I use. Both created by Hydrogen Excelsior of 'Sense.' Awesome guy...and what's even more exciting is, after his hiatus, he's coming back to SL to work on sculptie avatars! I couldn't be more psyched! Here is a progression of my avatar usage throughout the ages here in SL. The two bottom ones are my favorite AVs of all time. Obviously I mainly use the android HAV unit...but when I host my texturing competition, I use the Hybrid Demon. The image is a little stretched...sorry.

Again, I'd have to say I couldn't choose. Craz and Soji have had some fab ones, It's always interesting to see what they will turn up as next. I did enjoy the elderly avvies though, it made me laugh turning the hangout into a rest home for the elderly... I remember Spadesrun having some sort of cyborg donkey avvie that I thought was pretty cool. I love my heart avvie...especially with the groucho face and hat and teddybear lol. Oh! and my demon kitty and my water fae avvies.

That last one is REAL scary. Especially when I think that that was hiding somewhere inside Avatar #1.
I think my favorite is the mobile orchid I met at Ahern. He was hiding out in the shrubbery area, perfectly camouflaged except for the name tag. And the fact that he moved from time to time.

With over 2,000 avatars in my inventory, I don't think I have a Favourite, each have fond memories... the most hilarious would have to be the one I used in a Old Cronnies event... Fat, Balding, hairy armpits, long drooping snout, missing teeth, bad tattoos, straggly hair, big thick glasses.... and that was just the women..... , one thing above all.. we didn't need huge, fancy avatars, we just let it all hang out and couldn't stop laughing..

The Isle of Wyrms dragons always get a "Whoa, cool!" reaction from me. I love my Lost Ferals' lion and pretty much all of Wynx Whiplash's Tinies. Riann Maltese's fauns. A micro-fairy I bought somewhere that I can't remember the name of right at the moment. Other stuff, I'm sure... And, hey, I'm pretty darn fond of Neko Ann too.

From: Brann Georgia My fave? Yisroel /me beams with sisterly pride. Yisroel is my RL brother. I have a few pictures of him in my flickr stream but it looks like I'm due to take a few more because none of them is particularly good. Here's one of him on a dance pole: http://flickr.com/photos/25169960@N05/2381820654/Oh, here's another from Elora: http://flickr.com/photos/elora_lunasea/2359501459/I agree that the hangout is a great place to see a parade of fantastic avatars; sometimes spontaneous outbreaks of silly avatars happen at my cafe late in the SL evening as well. Crazod is possibly the master of amazing avatars, and he's been a significant influence on my own collection of fun avs. My personal favorites at the moment are my tiny dino (Craz and Rioko picked up tiny dinos too after seeing me in it - see here http://flickr.com/photos/25169960@N05/2380984683/ ) and my cardboard box bot (see here http://flickr.com/photos/23212529@N04/2384470622/ ). My flickr stream and the cartel stream have many more pictures of delightful avatars! If you are interested in fun avatars of your own, I recommend you start your search at Grendel's Children - the collection is huge and the prices astonishingly reasonable!

Hey Cen! If I see a cool AV, I always like to compliment people directly - I have never had anyone respond badly to that ... and sometimes they will simply tell you where they bought it. However, sometimes people are busy or non-English speakers, and in those cases, you can find out the creator by inspecting a prim part of their avatar (right-click on them, choose more, then inspect). A dialog box will come up showing the prim's owner and creator ... click on Show Profile for the creator, and read their picks. The store where the avatar came from is probably there.

At GG and Claire's party the other day - was it Isabeau in the teeny dragon? That was awesome This is the current fave me: I have a Daemoness I am very proud of - I don't buy put together avis either - I like to assemble them as the mood strikes me.

Was anyone around when I was doing the chicken dance at the hangout as a fossil bird skeleton? That's my favorite of all time - it's from Birdworx. Argos was there that night as a flying saucer, which was also a very good one. Oryx Tempel's Raven is also one of my favorites.

So many avatars, so little time... and best is purely subjective.
I've seen some crazy avatars, but I think I was most impressed by the simplest - a plywood cube. I mean, in a world where you can literally make yourself into anything... a plywood cube? Genius!
One of my personal favorites is my little magpie from Grendel's. I really need to wear it more often.
I love different colored skins, too.
Something I haven't seen, but would like to - a fish avatar. I could totally get into that... and they're probably out there.

That sounds like one of the IoW Dragons...since they are mod, so many amazing creations come from those. You could have been treated to a ride on a Steam Dragon or Bast Dragon from your description of the wings. That's another place to hang around and see unique avatars - the Cathedral in Isle of Wyrms. One night someone was wearing what she said was the tallest/largest AV made (a huge furry that went all the way to the ceiling), and another wearing the tiniest - making tinies look huge. My partner and I were in dragon hatchling form riding the tiny horses from AKK. A Gryphon appeared - from Grendel's I believe. Just about when I think I've seen the most unique avatar, another amazing one appears!!

I can drop a lm on you in world (can't recall the name of it now) but I happened onto a place that truly has off-the-wall AVs. One of them is a beautiful little fishbowl all decorated. I have an AV from there called "Be the Grid" which is like being a transparent person - can just see my heart pumping; another one IS a pumping heart that poofs tiny hearts when typing; and my third from there is a tiny sphere that reminds me a bit of R2D2.
