Questions of morality aside, Ciela, if you do go commando, take Trout with you. He has such devilishly mischievous ideas. And Brenda or Oryx...they show no mercy. Okiphia or Joaz ought to be in your squad, too, to take pictures of the carnage to send to the victims' heirs and assigns.

Well, problem solved. For short distance morons, I now have a delicious little script which heaves the offender a good one below the belt and drops him to the ground. Good enough for me IM me in-world if you want a copy

Okiphia or Joaz ought to be in your squad, too, to take pictures of the carnage to send to the victims' heirs and assigns. Mostly with me it's just verbal abuse. Orbiting them will just make them laugh. I wouldn't get any satisfaction out of retaliating because they just don't care. On the other hand, I bet I can get under their skin almost instantly if I try. Heck, I do that to most people without trying. It's a matter of finding the right buttons and pushing them. If you do it right, you don't even say anything that can get you in trouble. Honestly, I've only run into people a very few times who were causing trouble and it was easier for me to just leave than to deal with it. Why sink to their level or fill your life with the negative stuff. There is so much that's good about SL and the people in it, that there is no need to mess with stuff that's only going to bring you down.

I wouldn't pick on anyone in SL whi I didn't think really deserved it, and mostly I avoid confrontation. Like I said, why get into something negative when I don't have to?

From: Ciela Aichi And I don't mean sans underwear. I get harassed in Noob town. I get tazered in a ladies shop. And yesterday we get run over by some spaz in big truck. On a beach! I had a web spinner on me, but it didn't work in that sim. Where do I get me a freakin' big orbiter to get these bozos off my back? Yes, I know. Just leave, turn the other cheek, report it. But, MAN! I would have loved to see this guy fly off into outer space. I don't advocate shooting every griefer that comes along, but are there not some polite ways of ditching these dweebs without having to vacate the area yourself? By the way, I just found out that, if knocked down, your AV brushes him/herself off. How cute is that A long time ago I was a "Bodyguard" in SL, and a damned effective one at that. I dealt with MANY griefers, and I can say that normally I: 1. Hit "Report Abuse" asap, include the screenshot, a brief description of the problem, and I say "Almost done with the Report form." & they apologize and leave. 2. Other than that, ignoring them works when you can, they get bored since there is a WHOLE GRID to grief.

" ack . . extending it out for years just to keep from getting into the courtroom. I bet you love the "Motion to Substitute Counsel of Record." "Motion for leave to contest existence of a contract." "Motion to contest the existence of a round earth." "Motion to strike opposing counsel" "Motion to substitute the jurisdiction of the court of record for that of the courtroom of some randomly made up court inside Second Life."

From: Lexxi Gynoid Hehe. Avoid confrontation. You are one of those that drags things out, aren't you? A little simple matter and . . "Motion to extend . . . " "Motion to add . . " "Motion to eat gravy on Thanksgiving . . " ack . . extending it out for years just to keep from getting into the courtroom. I bet you love the "Motion to Substitute Counsel of Record." "Motion for leave to contest existence of a contract." "Motion to contest the existence of a round earth." "Motion to strike opposing counsel" "Motion to substitute the jurisdiction of the court of record for that of the courtroom of some randomly made up court inside Second Life." Objection. Hearsay and irrelevant. Unsubstantiated rumors. Assumes facts not in evidence. Move to strike; move for an instruction to the jury to disregard and move for a mistrial. Leave the "Motion to Strike Opposing Counsel" intact. I really like that one. Can I roll up a deposition and swat him in the back of the head with it? (You don't know how tempting it can be sometimes). I don't do any of those things in RL, although I almost always advocate strongly for some sort of alternative dispute resolution like arbitration or mediation. My trial record is excellent, and I have no fear of litigation if that's what needs to happen, but people are usually much happier avoiding it and getting on with their lives. Trials are nasty business and the emotional and karmic toll usually outweighs any benefit you might get beyond what you could have gotten with a decent settlement or arbitration award. There are better ways for adults to settle their differences. Yeeps. When did this thread start to go this way? Back to my Second Life where I'm a long-haired, bi-plane flying, peace-loving, slut-rating, complete degenerate dancing fool. I much prefer it to RL. It doesn't pay the bills, but man, oh man, is it ever way more fun.

From: Kitty Barnett Silly question maybe, but would a griefer even care that they got orbitted? I'd just think it would give them the satisfaction of knowing they got under your skin enough to make you retaliate. Well, regardless of what they are thinking, it makes me feel better defending myself. It puts them out of control and distorts their avatar, they often will have to relog, and it removes the irritation they were causing from my vicinity. I have never had one return to challenge me for a second round, so it seems to be effective.

From: Ciela Aichi I get harassed in Noob town. I get tazered in a ladies shop. And yesterday we get run over by some spaz in big truck. On a beach! Hey Ciela...Thanks for dancing with me the other night, we mannaged not tosquash each others toes! you actually are a great dancer! Well I said that to cheer you up,and it wasthe truth... i agree that we all should be free to go to any place made open to the public and be free from attacks. I am a very passive guy and believe in the idea od turning the other cheek even though I get FURIOUS when greifed. i tend to hold my peace anf find a place where I fell more comfortable, a hangout where i can be accepted for the I am, even if someone there doesnt agree with me. Like I said..we SHOULD be able to go to any public access area with impunity, but much like the real world, SL reflects the mores that it holds. I always had a mental picture of how the RL world would be a paradise...have a HUGE hole with unscalable concrete sides; when ever one found a polititian or a military general, throw them intothe pit and let THEM fight our all thier agression and hate...and leave all us peace lovingpeople alone! you think that would cure the earthb of violence?

Let me make you feel better. /me lights 3Ring on fire, distorts her, puts her in a cage, repeatedly demands sex and then orbits her. Better now? If not, maybe I can come to your land and fill it with prims covered with pictures of Bill Cosby flipping the bird until the sim crashes.

hang in there, girl. i would find new places to hang out. Well, that was only because you were on Forum Cartel land. You could have moved over a little and . . well . . hehe. And you have to be careful. I was shot once on the Forum Cartel land and crashed immediately. And I've also opened fire in a fit of playful giddiness in my home at some targets and crashed the sim (I was not the only one firing). Yes, I have now learned my leason. hehe.

Is it a flightless bird like a penguin? Is that why it can't fly away and keeps getting flipped over? First there was cow tipping. Now there is bird flipping.

I think you crashed when we crossed into forum cartel land when you and Oryx and I were testing how many people you can pile onto the bi-plane and still fly it. You disappeared about the time I flew headlong into the deck at full throttle. Oryx and I survived. We were getting ready to send flowers, but you re-appeared so we spent the money on booze and pull-tabs.

I had specifically meant the occasion I was standing on the balcony or deck or whatever that is called and I was shot by someone holding a gun and I crashed.

Which is why I want to extend landowners Freeze duration from 30sec to 5min. Eject Ban just sends them off to annoy someone else. Freezing them cheeses them off for 5 minutes while you AR them or contact a Linden. Please Vote for it. http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3914
