And I don't mean sans underwear. I get harassed in Noob town. I get tazered in a ladies shop. And yesterday we get run over by some spaz in big truck. On a beach! I had a web spinner on me, but it didn't work in that sim. Where do I get me a freakin' big orbiter to get these bozos off my back? Yes, I know. Just leave, turn the other cheek, report it. But, MAN! I would have loved to see this guy fly off into outer space. I don't advocate shooting every griefer that comes along, but are there not some polite ways of ditching these dweebs without having to vacate the area yourself? By the way, I just found out that, if knocked down, your AV brushes him/herself off. How cute is that

How cute is that Yes that's a really good animation - I think the default SL animations are often under-rated just because the default walk isn't good. Sorry - I sympathise with your problem. Where do you find these guys? No one ever tries it on me. It is best to "sit" somewhere - you can't be attacked when sitting - and AR griefers. Mute them if they are abusive and ignore them. I know it is tempting, but it's not worth going outside ToS yourself. I would also IM the land owner and inform them, so they can ban troublesome avatars and set scripts off and object return on.

The full version of the Misti-tool has what your after or my personal favorite the Psi-tech/Pro-tech combo of wepons and sheilds. I've had mine for almost a year now and have only had to use them once since I got them.

I'd suggest giving the Mystitool a whirl. Going nonphysical alone will defeat the vast majorityt of these idiots, and it offers some offensive capability as well, for a very reasonable price.
If you want to take a more serious approach to dealing with griefers, then you will need to explore the stronger stuff. But be prepared; the good stuff is expensive.

It would only cost you a glass of pino grigio at a nightclub for one of those in my part of the world.

I bought my husband that latest "Die Hard" movie for xmas.. In it is a scene where theres a 40 year old guy called "The Warlock" who lives in his mother's basement, Which was massively decked out with giant screen computers, etc. The Warlock called it his "Command Center" Made me laugh at how so many people here in SL brag about how awesome their computers are ... and how many Im sure still live in their Mother's Basements.

I must be fortunate; I don't think I have once met anyone in SL bragging about their computer. I guess it must therefore be the case that all those I have spoken to have flown the nest

You know, it just reminded me of your typical forum about 10 years ago. Even forums on subjects not even remotely related to anything technical would be full of members who had their specs listed in their sig! heh. Anyone else remember that? Anyway, my bad for steering away from the OP; sorry!

One of the questions I asked the governance team last week was whether retaliating against a griefer would hurt the AR that person filed for the initial abuse.
Too lazy right now to check the actual responses, but paraphrased they said that the incident will be investigated and they stressed again that there is no such thing as a "defensive attack". As far as the governance team is concerned, if you attack you're a "griefer", whether you were provoked or not.
The example given was that when they had recently investigated an AR filed for caging, they arrived on the scene just as the reporter was caging the griefer. Both were issued a warning and suspended. There's no "he/she started it" excuse.

But otherwise, yes that rumor is correct. Pole dancing? Must have missed that one. A pity I can't go and beat up or orbit griefers. I'd feel more satisfied than with just ARing and muting them...

Nah, it's not a German thing to want revenge...really...it's my zodiac sign, or something genetic, or maybe my bad upbringing..but not anything Godwinnable. Or were you talking about the pole dancing? My grandparents were Poles!
