All these land threads made me realize we are talking to ourselves while the poor newbies are wandering around inworld dazed and confused. Our community needs help negotiating this crazy minefield we call SL real estate.
I created a new group: SL Land Answers Unlimited. Please join if you are knowledgeable about land dealings and are open to receiving IMs from residents needing advice online.
Group Charter: Understanding the options and pitfalls regarding land in Second Life is not easy. This group was created to provide information to people who are preparing to make a land transaction in SL. If you have any question about mainland, estates, buying or selling, just IM any member. We are here to help!

I know nothing about buying land and don't plan to anytime soon, but I love that you're putting this group together Ray.
I get asked questions I can't answer all the time including many about land. I'm happy that I now have a place to refer people. Good show! _____________________

Actually when I was much newer I would join groups only to have people upset with me and those who were talking because we were flooding their screen with our group chats.
At first I didn't understand why this was so annoying until it happen to me when I was in middle of something that need my total concentration. After that I pretty much decided groups were about land holdings, not helping others. I know only use those groups in accounts I am rarely on to see events I may or may not go too, come here to chat or in im's with friends. _____________________
