oh for the love of crumb cake...You are not supposed to use the test version (First Look) unless you wish to help test, nobody forces you to do this. The official released viewer is available v1.19.1.4 and is recommended when you just want things to work (mostly). Ok..I unstalled the 1.20 and when I opened 1.18.5 (3) to try it's telling me there is a manditory update to RC 1.19.1.4 which WAS the last viewer I was using and when I logged in earlier today there was a manditory update to 1.20...incase you didn't know 1.19.1.4 is an RC version. If you are still using 1.19.1.4 how did you get around the manitory update? |

Why the need for the rudeness? I had the same reaction when I read Ann's post, after having experienced what Layla did. It was equally incorrect of Ann to say the poster was not forced, as the download was mandatory for anyone using an RC viewer. In fact, the poster was not forced to use an RC viewer but that may have been a choice taken long ago and not pertinent to what the poster said. Quibbling about semantics ? Sure. But if you want to raise the issue of them you need to check your own. As this is resident answers, it may be that people expect to see them, pure and simple sometimes. In other words, download and use the stable release client, as RC is a beta and trouble prone. |

QFT! "QFT", internet slang usually meaning "quoted for truth". This term applies on forums and posting boards where users can edit their posts, and describes a re-posting of another user's statement in order to counteract subsequent changes. Since the repost is not made by the original author, it can not be edited by him and will always preserve an unaltered copy of his initial contribution. Thus the QFT holds the poster to his original statement. It is also used - in the form of the slightly-altered "quoted from truth" - to express agreement with a previous poster's statement and validate its veracity. Other variations include "quoted for truthiness," "quoted for truthery," and "quite fucking true" (used to indicate complete agreement with the previous post in toto). QFT can also mean "quit fucking trolling" or "quit fucking typing". OMG please explain yourself!~!!\\\ hehehehehe |

If you are still using 1.19.4 how did you get around the manitory update? You'll need to use Nicholaz's patches if you want to go back to that one. He's basically disabled the function that tells LL which version it is. _____________________

Oh good lord - who told you to install 1.18.5(3)? Install The Offically Released Viewer v1.19.1.4 (not the Release Candidate viewer) and be done. v1.19.1.4 is now the release version. 18.5.3 works just fine if you add Nicholaz's patches...better than the current official release, if everything I've read is true. _____________________

SO, as it is not required, or forced.. If you enjoy windlight, which I think for the most part we do.. It is forced. (well, you know you have to install it) ) I think some people don't realize that the main client is now Windlight enabled and that the release candidate you have been using is most likely just an older version of that release. If you don't like the Dazzle interface you can still use Windlight by downloading and installing the latest main viewer. Nothing is being forced on anyone here as far as I can tell. |

When is LL going to fix things instead of breaking more things and not fixing what they broke in the first place. I'n really getting tired of all this LL incompetence. Like so many others have said: the RC is a beta product. if you use it and find bugs, report them; if you want a ::koff:: more stable environment, use either 1.19.0 or 1.19.1. If you are having problems like that, then by all means report them on the JIRA. I dunno the Dazzle team off-hand, but both the Havok 4 and the Windlight team have been responsive. I was NOT forced to use the RC viewer, I WAS forced to download and install the update since I was. I could then argue I was forced to download the release build and reinstall it since I had not used it since Windlight, and it would still not have anything to do with the choice of viewer as it relates to whether a download is mandatory (forced) or not). To each his/her own I suppose. Basic fact remains the same, better off with release build. |

I am not arguing.. I really am not, frankly I did not realize that the other one was WL enabled and will of course get it, cause this freezing PC is killing my HD! Ahh I didnt know about the patching but v1.19.1.4 is the only officially released viewer without patching that will work and I stand by my comment that v1.19.1.4 is the official released version. lol, sorry to contradict, but they still have 1.19.0.5 (non-Windlight) working for now too...you just have to dig for a blog post to find the download link. _____________________

Hehe, I love you Gabriele I had 1.18.5 (3) still installed since I tried the first windlight verison that fixed the glowies..I forget which one it was. I thot I would try it and since it was telling me to update to 1.19.1.4...which I was already on up until today's manditory notice in the connection screen to update to 1.20. 1.19.1.4 installed fine and I didn't get the manditory update notice...yet. What I don't get is... I WAS on 1.19.1.4 and I got that update notice but it seems non of you did if you were on 1.19.1.4. and if it is the offical release why did I get the manditory update notice..which if you don't install you can't run SL on the last version you were on...which AGAIN WAS 1.19.1.4 |
