I use to think it was more "Companion With Benefits", a companion relationship can mean different things to different ppls.
Now that my irl has joined SL, it is a Partnership, of our time, assets, SL.

Hmm, thanks for the comment. However, I'm not sure if I was attempting to lead it to answer the question "is it cheating" or to suggest that a conversation should venture into that realm. I was just asking for some opinions and viewpoints of others. _____________________

In SL, I Married a Wonderful Woman, My Darling Ikuko. and Of Course We took the Partners Designation. I haven't Found any alteration in the way people Interact with me other than thier Admiring that I've Been Married to the same Woman for So Long.
I'll Tell you though, It Isn't the Names or the titles we Use, It's Not the Ceremony we went through, All of that is Window dressing. It's meaningless UNLESS it's Backed by Real Love, and Real Devotion. The Meaning Isn't in the words, it's in the actions and motives behind them. Do we have Sex? Yes, when the Mood strikes. We also Argue, Play, Disagree, Be Silly, Inadvertantly Hurt one another, Sit quietly together Enjoying the Moonlight,,,,We even Plan an SL family together one day (She wants to get Pregnant ~Smiles~). In short We have a Marriage. My Real Wife Knows all about her, Has met, and Likes her, and even refers to her as My Other Wife (She Knows my Feelings for Ikuko are real, and don't in any way take away from my RL Marriage). I couldn't Be Happier. Angel. |

Let me chime in... I'd like to know something about this. How do some of you who are married in RL, but have someone in SL that you date handle it? I mean, I'm fairly new to SL, and I've been approached by a few women and have became good friends with a few. I have one in particular that I really enjoy spending time with. So it's a balance for me to still persue the SL relationship and maintain my RL relationship. Anyway... How do you all do it? What does your RL partner think? Do they know? Do they not know? Part of the problem is too many women & not enough men. Another part of the problem is that Gorean men are just too hot!  Only cos most of the women ARE men!!! And Gorean men hot? Only if you like the cliched Conan over muscled shapes with little heads and freebie male skins, cos most don't fork out to buy decent ones. It's a running gag here- don't take the answer to heart- we just get these often and it had been awhile Commitment and possessiveness are basically buzzwords for the same thing. If you think committing to someone is a bad thing you call it being owned. Think I wil cover is it cheating and the above in one fell swoop... The actual Partner box as far as LL is conscerned is pointless- no benefits or detraments or responsibilities or anything. The only meaning is what we each assign to it. Married in RL - yes, it's cheating - live wth your eyes wide open- do what u do and be responsible. When the piper asks for payment do not be surprised. This me- Amaranthim - is in a relationship for nigh on two years though not partnered; My alt Hera, is Partnered and collared and owned and the whole nine yards - As my alt, Hera, I know it is priceless to me - as is his collar and his brand - owned? Yes- most happily. His collar means more than his name in the box but I am most glad for it nonetheless. It is comitment and devotion. So, obviously the next question is why as an alt not the main- it is all me and I do not hide and anyone who knows Amaranthim knows Hera and Amaranthim are one and the same- it is simply easier to make that separation since me- that 'alll of me' me- is a lot more than one me holds. _____________________
