...an abridged nutshell version of what is now acceptable (or what is now not acceptable, if that is easier) on an ad plot (if that´s what we are still calling them)?
The September 12th blog post, http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/09/12/more-information-on-ad-farms-network-advertisers/, is still the latest specific information, with very few clarifications from Jack beyond the content of that post. The details:
From: the blog
* We will allow no more than 50 advertising locations owned by a single individual, whether personally owned or via groups in which you are a member, unless you have written permission from Linden Lab to exceed this limit.Use of Alt accounts/groups to circumvent this restriction will be considered a violation.

* In addition to the cap, we will allow no more than 1 advertising placement by an individual in any single region.

The advertisements themselves..

* Adverts should be grounded to the terrain, not floating.
* Adverts should extend no higher than 8m from the ground.
* No rotating, no flashing content and no particles.
* No unsolicited dispensing of IMs, notecards, landmarks or content.
* No light sources or glow (full bright is acceptable however).
* Advertising hoardings should be Phantom.
* Adverts must be clearly PG in nature.
* No sound and no temp-on-rez content.
* Ban lines should be switched off.

Qie - Thanks. I thought there might be something later that I´d missed.

/me runs off gleefully to AR the green particle spewing 30 ft tall tower.

I behaved and kept it local :)

The only one I actually had to AR was the aforementioned particle beacon spewing plot of rudeness, I followed advice and AR'd it as a 'Parcel' violation. Checked back in a half hour and it was gone.

The one in Gibbosa? You too? I note that it's owner is now "Not Found."

LL pushed the wrong button on my mainland home back in March and returned/deleted most of the region. None of the ad farmers noticed and we've been ad farm-free since then. Nothing to report on my home, unless we can now AR the silly priced 16m2's..

/me feels left out. :(

Nah they are just transfering the land to some anoymous alts :P

That's probably true. I spent a little time last night looking up the land ownership of said micro parcels and following links. Names are familiar.

I've noticed a few "Not Found"s, too. What does that mean?

One of two things:
- search is broken
- the account you're searching for has been suspended or banned

(edit: or you misspelled it)

Case in point: near a parcel we own in Nadata, there is a small lot next to a nice looking house. On that lot are 2 full glow ads for those freebie skins you see everywhere (glow is so high you can't even read the ads lol) with 6 particle beacons shooting up into the air and a few other things on the lot. The land is set as not for sale, but the land description says "For sale to neighbors (sic) for $xxxxLindens (I forget the amount at the moment)". I should say it WAS next to a nice house, last week. I looked at it yesterday, and the nice house is gone.

Is he an advertiser? No. He's a griefer.

I have some space in Nadata; it seems to suffer a bit from absentee owners with low-IQ displays that they never come back to in order to even be asked to deal with the problem (or sell me their land!). I've just ARed a pyramid-scam style plot for "earning money by filling in surveys" which has lopped the corner off my main plot for the last two and a half years, with no change, no traffic, no response from Mr Bigtime Land-Trader landlord...

Our group's ar was handled in a matter of minutes. the SL team that responded took away all of the huge, elevated, spinning for sale signs.

They also disposed of a bunch of junk that was on the sim (auto return has been off). Pretty much anything that was not set to the landowner's group was returned to the owners.

An impressive response.

Update:

The a--hat has (of course) banned our groups officers from the parcel. Oh no, ugly ban lines!

Once a griefer, always a griefer.

*Waves at Gummi* Howdy neighbor :)

I was walking around the sim yesterday and saw that survey plot, that whole area kinda looks like it got hit by a giant litterbug, so I know what you are talking about.

Edit: I was looking at incident reports and was noticing that some are just ad network violations while others are ad network violations/harassment. Lindens can tell the difference I think :)
