Getting ready for October 1!!!

What if we held an AR party. Band 10 or more avatars together and travel to say 5 or so ad farms per day and everyone AR together. That way there's more focus on any one given ad farm instead of eating elephant one bite at a time and maybe revisiting a bite that might have already been nommed.

What's interesting is that I've watched roadside plots, micro up to 64m drop in price over the last few weeks, but a lot have been bought in the last few days and the prices raised to somewhere between 2,000 to 4,000. I think someone missed the memo.

There was a 16 by my shop the other day for 87L. I waited around for a few minutes but no land bots showed up... Then I grabbed it cause I wanted to put a gravestone there hehe

this has been going on forever.. the old ad farm behind my place has some , don't bother me they are small 1m-2m cubes and mostly freebie houses set for 500L or other oddly boxed free or very low cost items set high... looks like a yard sale but all in boxes..

don't bother me a little planting blocks that view or a fence to screen it some

the spinning for sales and glowing XXX spinning breast signs do (not that I don't like Breast... but 20M in the air spinning telling me I can meet local singles that's not needed, put it in a escort club wall or something ... (I would think it would get better hits there anyway no?)

If lots of parcels get abandoned it would be nice if LL could offer them to neighbours before they hit auction.

Alternatively Elanthius can tell me how the bloody hell he keeps finding plots by my mall that are cheaper than when I look at them!

I don't AR in-world, I seriously contemplated ARing the guy who want me to dress up as child for sex but it was just easier to remove the guy from my friend list, feel bit creep out for few days, cry and vomit for few days then give up having SLsex then AR-ing.
I probably will AR though if it ever happens again but Adplots truthfully as ugly as they are I really don't care nor would I go out of my way unless I wanted the land.

I just a got a 512 from him today - a bit over the odds but not by too much, and not worth me haggling over. There were 2 x 1024s next to it that were perhaps a little under the odds for an end user, that I also got. All three must have come up for sale late yesterday or today, but I didn't see them until later today - probably for the same reason that he gets them before you. I don't see them unless I look at the map or have Show Landowners on.

I popped over to my old sim vacated only 3 weeks ago ,by me ,for a change of venue.Wow what a difference,almost nothing spinning.few large for sale stuff, could not see anything that really was bad. Believe me 3 weeks ago it was the pits. So I don't think there will be a big prob ,looks like people are cleaning up their act.

Not everyone is cleaning up yet, but there's still time. There's a 70m high by 32x32 ad in my sim. I'm looking forward to tomorrow

I don't even have a serious problem within view distance of my land - just a little cluster of empty 16s for sale at ridiculous prices, and a single small ad obelisk thingy on a 16 that isn't for sale. Probably not AR-able in the current environment, any of them. I imagine I'll live.

Any consensus on an AR party? I wouldn't mind helping out if it seems the thing to do, and someone provides some SLURLs or something.

While I find Ad Farms a blight on the landscape, I dont intend on actively looking for them.

Three or four things near my parcels that still haven't complied. Probably AR them later tomorrow if they haven't changed. Otherwise, it's mostly turned into empty, overpriced, plots around here. Grabbed several over the last couple weeks that went up for decent prices.

Is there such a thing as an AR bot?

Karas Trust Group has initiated AR's against all neighboring parcel owners in defiance of the new standards (it's 10-1 in Asia). This follows polite requests to voluntarialy comply prior to the deadline.

We have kept several parcels off market (we do rentals) because of our standards. We do not rent out parcels next to eyesores. As of this moment, we are taking action to aleviate this situation. Group officer Zoraster Vuckovic has been instructed to AR all builds that violate the new standards.

It is time to reclaim the mainland.

I think ads farmer just take down their ads and observe what will be happening in October.

If LL did not do anything. They will put it up again. Its not time to celebrate yet

What's a land bot?

In an attempt to answer the OP's question...

The word from Arbor Project is that if you AR, it gets dealt with by G-team; however Concierge apparently have a team ready and waiting to deal with issues. The way to reach them is via a Support Ticket (with category: Land).

They suggest that you group similar issues together into a single Ticket - my take on that was either issues for one sim, or one AdFarmer (in a sim or nearby sims?).

Personally I will submit a Ticket(s) for sims where I have land; anything else I think can wait and I will deal with it as I come across it.

This is what I'm seeing, too. I'm guessing that the TAG team and maybe a few others imagine that they may get special dispensation to run more than 50 ads. (If they do--if LL falls for that--then I'm done: it's hopeless, LL hasn't a clue, and I'm outta here.)

In general, though, something else is going on, too, but I'm just not good enough at Byzantine games to figure out what it is. There are still many instances of multiple adfarmer-owned parcels in the same sim, and many prims that are currently full-alpha'd but would be in flagrant violation of the policy. They've had plenty of time to set up compliant networks, if that's what they wanted to do; I'm guessing they've used that time to scheme up something else--but I just don't know what, yet.

What's the TAG team?

So, rather than spending 3 days trawling back through the somewhat lengthy Ad Farm threads, can someone in the know provide an abridged nutshell version of what is now acceptable (or what is now not acceptable, if that is easier) on an ad plot (if that´s what we are still calling them)?

Most of the spinning, flashing stuff where I am has gone already, but there are a couple of things I am not completely sure about and will definitely AR if they are in the wrong, if only to get my own back for the green pulsating light streaming out of the top of it!

There were I think four ad networks that formed "The Advertising Guild" ("TAG" a while back. I'm not in-world at the moment to check if they've disbanded it--which would be smart, given that by the letter of the new policy, just by belonging to that group, they'd be limited to a total of 50 ads for the whole group (they have many hundreds of parcels right now), and only one in a sim for that whole group.

The thing is, they were a very mixed group. A couple of old-school adfarmers with long, notorious histories, and a couple who seemed to be more or less reasonable, with very different numbers of parcels owned. One or maybe both of those latter just might actually run a respectable network, given the chance, and although they did certainly contribute to the blight, they never cut land AFAIK.

But still, for any normal commercial purposes, that 50 ad limit had better hold. If LL starts granting exceptions, we'll be right back to where we started in no time, and whatever Concierge does now will just be wasted effort.

Yeah well CE still has 2 in Andraca, one is still spewing particles. the land is now split to 2 different groups
TAG seem to have a pair of grain silos for some reason on big lots of land
I also seem to be getting a lot of :
"Ad - Link 32eTM v2.2 Greentooth: Could not find texture '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000'." from something in the sim.

Nah they are just transfering the land to some anoymous alts
