not too many weeks ago we have had 264 on the board aswell, the board still shows 265 on a daily basis, i really dont think a 0.38% drop can be seen as a falling L$? Lindex now: 264 - L$23million , wont take much to get back to 265 IMO ? *i also think due to the fact that the L$ market could be easily manipulated, by 1 well funded player, the "Supply Linden AV" is a necessity. --------> EDIT: kk, i re-read this thread, and now saw someone had sold at 263, although it would make sense for a correction against the US$, i really think supply linden was on holliday indeed, and it will not happen (even 2.5% out of the 15% (last year devaluation US$/EURO) correction would have a BiG impact on SL)

We're back up to 265. Either LL took their eye of the page or they wanted to let someone take a big dump at 262. Doubt we'll get back there anytime soon.

Even so, 265 is better that's usually been for quite a long time. It's usually 266, with occasional times when it's better, but those times don't last long - presumably as the amount at that price runs out.

Usually you can sell at 265 after a day or two, you just need to be patient. If 265 is the new 266 then I guess you'll be able to sell at 264 after a day or two.

Some examples of what can happen when people either mismanage, or leave an economy to the whim of anarcho-capitalism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall_Street_Crash_of_1929 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997_unrest_in_Albania Some commentary on virtual economies worth reading: http://www.raphkoster.com/2006/09/07/agc-mmo-economies/ $L is only the tiniest part of it. Everything - everything - from downtime to land printing has leverage with the exact same ultimate effect (or failure to effect) as Supply Linden. I do agree with the Company when they say Supply Linden is one of the smaller levers they can use to trim the economy. Imagine if up to two hours of downtime a day was used as an economic lever, for instance.

It appears that late yesterday and early this morning Supply Linden dropped 24 million L$ at L$264/1 in 2 large orders. You can't do that without running the exchange rate back up to near where it has been for months. Why that was done like that is anybody's guess, I just wish they would be a little more consistant. For over a year the rate has reamained very stable and if I had to guess, the 1 person at LL who acts as Supply Linden was on vacation and just got back late yesterday.

That's what I've been doing for a long time - waiting for those better rates - and occasionally they've been 284L. Now I'm skipping the 285s and waiting for 284 periods.

You know everyone is a expert everyone is right and all the other people are wrong. Other people are depressing and never say a positive thing. But everyone else that says this about others are always says every thing is perfect they never make mistakes, and they say only postive remarks. You know In japan we try to repect other people thoughts. But here on this forum everyone is as rude and hateful can be...........I really hope everyone loves being perfect and expept of every signle topical matter on this forum. Because frankly speaking I highly doubt these same people can understand base human realtionships let alone be experts or Know-Alls how Sl works.......Please alts games are cute but people are smarter then you think.........

From: Cristalle Karami Jesus, Usagi, read what Kelli said again. There's no point, Cristalle. Usagi and I went round and round once as Usagi continued to pointlessly argue with me while never understanding that I was agreeing with her. I understand there may be a language barrier but you'd think that would make one be more cautious to ensure they understand before going off half cocked.

Usagi, did you or did you not misquote Kelli May? All she wanted you do to acknowledge it. Instead what you wrote reads like we were supposed to already know you had mistook her for Kitty, which I don't think you originally meant to say.

It's actually likely that Supply Linden dropped them as market orders, and the money flippers put them back in at 264. While the craziness at the low end was taking place, there was a huge backlog on the buy side. For some reason, people weren't putting in market sells, and that tied up the money of the flippers. It would seem odd to me if Supply Linden was picking his/her price and doing a limit order. Not the oddest thing that LL would ever do, but still odd.

I'd like to add a few lines to what was said between Usagi Musashi & I. Not to continue the drama, but try to leave it on a friendlier note.
Kitty Barnett made a post that UM responded to negatively. Somehow she managed to make it look like she had quoted me when she quoted Kitty. I responded to point this out.
UM later replied trying to explain what had happened. I responded with a sarcastic little jab that she ought to have apologised to me rather than explained.
<<end history>>
Usagi, you didn't say sorry for your mistake which annoyed me, but by turning it into an argument I just made it worse and drew more people in. I apologise for that unnecessary attack, and leave you the last word if you want it.

Ok, it's Monday and LL updated the Economic Statistics so I could confirm my suspicions. By 3/13/2008 Supply Linden had sold only 46,764,171 new L$. On 3/14/2008 he sold 15,000,000 and by 3/16/2008 he had sold another 37,026,200. So in 3 days he sold a total of 52,026,2000 new L$ as opposed to selling only 46,746,171 the first 13 days of March. It was the lack of selling that allowed the L$ exchange rate to drop in the first place and the sudden infusion of new L$ that caused it to go back up. Currently it is at it's historical average for this time of the month so Supply Linden just wasn't around to sell and when he got back put the growth in L$ back in line with the LL guidelines.
