Nuvi, one thing I learned from my "bite" experience. I never have been asked to be bitten again. So, if nothing else look at it as if you now immunity from future bites.

That's the way I look at it. Ages ago, someone I knew kept asking if she could bite me and I kept saying no. Then a friend of hers asked and I said yes because it would stop all the asking. I've never done anything to change it and nobody has asked me since

I got bitten several months ago and I forget how the vamp got me-I don't think I consciously volunteered though. Probably something similar to the OP's experience.
I found it vaguely annoying and took it as a reminder to pay more attention to my requests.

The whole, "I own your soul" thing means about as much to me as, "I've got your nose" meant when I was two.

That's unfair. It's possible for a new dialog to pop up just as the user is about to click another one. There may not be enough reaction time to stop the intended click.

Mostly I see new dialogs appearing behind existing ones, which helps, but not always

You don't. Just ignore them. Them "owning your soul" is meaningless. I can write "I stole your shoes and hid them under your rosebushes" but you wouldn't run out and check to see if a giant ferret was actually in your rosebushes. You might mute me, but you wouldn't take any action to get your shoes back. This is more of the same.

I've been told once or twice I'm in their stupid database. A stupid 'newbie' mistake. I thought it was some nerd playing a harmless joke, and said yes to get rid of him.
