Ok without sounding totally needy or desparate. I have a question for people on here that have partners, i'm finding myself more looking for someone to spend my SL with but not having luck. I've tried a couple of dating agencys, a web based agency for SL with no luck either. All i seem to be meeting are people i make really good friends with or people who just are after a f**k buddy basically.

So people how did you meet your partners, if you used a dating agency which did you use that worked.

So any tips would be amazing.

Thanks

I met my partner at a venue for live music, I was actually sitting away from everyone im a bit shy but i wanted some peace.. well he came up and busted that all to hell with his chit chat.. anyway its been a year for us... we've had ups and downs for sure and I guess perhaps we are the exception to the rule with sl relationships...

I was not looking mind you and always removed myself from situations or conversations that revolved around relationships etc...

I believe the old saying is true, when you least expecting it love will find you.

but i also believe you dont "need" a partner to share sl with, you make sl what you want ot make it, if you have many friends then you have a nitch not many have...

I definently will but i'm not sure i'll be making things in SL anymore, i'm really into photography at the moment lol. I'd love to own my own studio one day maybe but not sure if it would happen

You could shoot and sell textures- I have shot many of my own. There is always a market for original textures.

That's very sweet Tarina and you know that's something exactly i'd do lol. I'm not the type to just jump into a conversation with people i don't know. Crowds make me nervous lol. I found that out yesterday *shudders*

I do know you don't need a partner to spend your second life with but i'm finding i'm becoming increasingly lonely and bored at the same time. Which in turn makes me head to the club i work for, which is good for awhile but i'm not really meeting new people. I'm shy aswell so i don't tend to be the type of person to just jump into someone's IM and say hi, so even if i visit somewhere new, the chances of me meeting and making a friend are pretty slim.

Hmmmm never though about that Amar but when i said photography :P, i meant that i love to take profile pictures lol.

Hey that is a field on its own!

And advert shots- I paid someone for the pix that were in my SLU advert- and am getting her to do more for the next round- it is a market :)

I do my own profile pix but some folks do hire these out- I have an alt with a real cool profile shot i did my self- but damn - lol- i cannot remember her name now!!!

lol your advert shot is really good btw, i've been playing around with photoshop and profile pics for the past few months. I'm slowly getting better and better but not upto the standard yet of some i've seen. I'm hoping to take a photoshop advanced course aswell in Sept at my adult ed.

If you wanna look at my stuff though it's on my flickr page :)

I met my partner while we were both exploring the same sim, both of us on our own. Being painfully shy (believe it or not), she approached me first, or I would never have said a word to her.
...
I watched her leave, down a path, and kept watching as she turned a corner... and then she backed up as if to take another look at me. It made me laugh in RL, because it did seem so very real. And then she vanished.
...
Great! A girl who likes trains and vehicles and Victorian history! So a few days later I went out and bought a Victorian bicycle for two and invited her for a ride through Caledon (then maybe a dozen sims or so).

That's some romantic film material. :)
Seriously, very nice post.
Best wishes for you both.

OP I would like to help you but I am as lost as you.
I don't really try to flirt or to find a girlfriend in in SL but like in RL I guess is something it randomly could happen... who knows?

A RL friend meet the woman of his life in the supermarket waiting file!
Who goes to the supermarket hoping to find his future wife while waiting to pay to the cashier?
Those are things that just randomly happen...

You can join one thousand dating agencies getting nothing.
You can do nothing and to get what you have been looking for all your life.

A nice story related in "The Fisher King" came to my mind:
"It begins with the king as a boy, having to spend the night alone in the forest to prove his courage so he can become king. Now while he is spending the night alone he's visited by a sacred vision. Out of the fire appears the holy grail, symbol of God's divine grace. And a voice said to the boy, "You shall be keeper of the grail so that it may heal the hearts of men." But the boy was blinded by greater visions of a life filled with power and glory and beauty. And in this state of radical amazement he felt for a brief moment not like a boy, but invincible, like God, so he reached into the fire to take the grail, and the grail vanished, leaving him with his hand in the fire to be terribly wounded. Now as this boy grew older, his wound grew deeper. Until one day, life for him lost its reason. He had no faith in any man, not even himself. He couldn't love or feel loved. He was sick with experience. He began to die. One day a fool wandered into the castle and found the king alone. And being a fool, he was simple minded, he didn't see a king. He only saw a man alone and in pain. And he asked the king, "What ails you friend?" The king replied, "I'm thirsty. I need some water to cool my throat". So the fool took a cup from beside his bed, filled it with water and handed it to the king. As the king began to drink, he realized his wound was healed. He looked in his hands and there was the holy grail, that which he sought all of his life. And he turned to the fool and said with amazement, "How can you find that which my brightest and bravest could not?" And the fool replied, "I don't know. I only knew that you were thirsty."

Yea there is some right film material here, i think we should get warner bros or something in :P

Lol well it's not hard for me to get lost and i don't generally flirt or i don't think i do lol, i've never really flirted in RL either though. I started going out with my partner at such a young age that i never really had to flirt.

The agency's i've joined i'm not renewning. I don't really want to spend alot of money like that when it aint working for me so i'm scrapping those ideas. I've started hanging out at some formal dance places but they are so packed with other females you get lost in the crowd lol.

Oh and that's a pretty good story, it does quite relate :)
