Well, that was eye-opening...What was amazing to me was that there are 5 or 6 highly-detailed sims, connected, for the French-speaking to explore. The first, the one with the pirate ship, had a path through a castle, with stations with signs (in French, of course!), instructing on various aspects of SL. It reminded me a lot of the Orientation Island of a year ago. Other sims had sandboxes (1/2-sim size) and acres of freebies. And, it looked like, lots of other stuff---I ran out of time and left.... So the big question is: why do the French-speakers have such a very detailed landing place, while English speakers have rez-spots that are so much less engaging and useful? Is it that the French sims are NOT built and maintained by LL? And the English-speaking ones ARE run by LL, and LL just doesn't want to go to the trouble of building a more detailed orientation sim(s)? ... Probably because you used a Community Gateway instead of the generic Help Islands. There are good English-speaking gateway areas, too, such as Caledon Oxbridge. Otherwise, your speculation is quite correct. LL doesn't want to/can't build a good orientation for their own virtual world. _____________________

And I have a strong suspicion as to who you are... you were teasing me once about my use of the word "again" if you are who I think you are. I think you'd be great as Seven OHarts or Seven ODiamonds.
