Sidestepping this question ... there is some advantage to having the same brand of "equipment" as one's partner(s). Ok, no offence folks, but no matter how much I read it, hear about or even have the misfortune of seeing it, I can not for the life of me understand why people want to have cartoon sex. Maybe it's because I get plenty in RL.

I've bought three of the penises mentioned above:

For a number of months, before I bought land, I used the Sexgen penis because it came with three built-in skyboxes that you can rez from the HUD. This was a great feature and I found it very useful.

Now that I'm a land owner I could use any of these, but either out of habit or preference still use the Sexgen.

Once you have the equipment it's important to get a good sex animation. I've been the most pleased with Akaesha's products. I've owned both the Kama Sutra Rug and a bed. Her animations are the best I have seen, not nearly as mechanical and repetitive as others.

Sometimes for us guys at least for me majority of time it isn't always about sex it all about the penis being seen when we are undressing, etc.
Some guys get very distressed not having anything built in there, it makes
them uncomfortable with their pixelated body unless a penis is attached.

For the same reason you'd do anything in SL I'd say. Because you can. For some it's part of RP, and I guess for some who are maintaining some sort of long distance relatonship, it is a way to add at least some intimacy. And sometimes it's just goofy fun.

My wife and I are a couple in SL, and we had a significant increase in RL sex sice we began playing.

Not only that, but I've noticed that we've both been treating each other more kindly and patiently in RL as well. I can't explain it. But I'd be happy to have a few electrodes implanted in me so some scientist could study it.

There some newbie guys who come to SL who find they don't have any real bits
