A good place for male skins/Pissed off

I need to get a new skin, im really pissed off to find that my skin i bought about 7 months ago, has now been leaked and become a freebie, so i need to get a new one.

As long as they're not pissed ON, I guess...

My alt has a great skin from The Good Life if you prefer that subtle painted look. He is far cooler than me - the creep!

I could understand being angry if you were the creator, but the fact that the skin has been leaked shouldn't force you to get a new one.

It doesnt force me, but now im seeing everyone having it, like noobs, i dont want to be counted as a noob

i can understand his feelings though, you shop around looking for a skin so you can at least look unique, only to run into your uniqueness everywhere. so i can sympathize.

Then find interesting hair and clothing, and use a distinguished shape.

Seriously, if you're dressed, then the skin won't tag you as a newbie given some interesting clothing. If you're at a place where you're not dressed, then it's the way your participate in chat that will distinguish you. People looking at your skin will be more interested in whether it's attractive than its popularity.

PS: If you really don't want to be counted as a newbie, then spell it "newbie" and not "noob". Only newbies spell it "noob" or "newb" or, worse, "n00b". Spelling it "newbie" let's everyone know you've been on the Internet since long before leetspeak.

A custom shape will transform the skin quite well. No need to get rid of a good skin. I do feel terrible for the creator, though.

How do you determine if a freebie was "leaked"? All we have to go on in SL is the permission system. NCI has hundreds and hundreds of freebies in its system. I'm sure there are a few (maybe more) that were "leaked" or stolen or lost due to permissions error or creator error. But I can't figure out any way of knowing for sure.

Even the obvious "IM the creator and ask" isn't necessarily going to work. Many of skins, clothing, eyes, etc. that are stolen are stolen via texture theft using GLIntercept and similar tools. So when they are reuploaded, the creator name will be that of the thief.

I think that basically unless the creator intentionally makes it a freebie and gives it away, its really "stolen"

Whether texture theft, permission glitch, ex-boyfriend handing out full perm copies, w/e.

He has one of the originals that he purchased, so he could IM the creator of that skin and see if the creator knows, or he could get one of the freebie skins and compare the names of the creators.

Well.... shape and hair are gonna make a huge difference...but if you're looking for unique......I found some really nice blond male skin (body and facial hair actually blond!) at Made Men....the bad news is to get the cool skin you have to get the package which includes a body shape and hair (so now you're gonna look like anyone else who bought that, so ditch the shape and use your own)

But.....I wanted to make an AV of my fiance (I was bored, I miss him, he's over seas, it was something to do lol) and I needed a good blond male skin to make it look like him. This is actually a great skin and blond isn't all that common in SL. Incidentally...it DOES look like him and ya wont find that shape anywhere cause I made it and I aint sellin it. LOL Sowwy.

Frankly, when I got my skin I was a newbie. My friend, a female, went shopping with me and gave me an entire make over. We both chose on what we liked. I had thought I looked pretty reasonable and had spent a lot of time on my look. Of course I looked like some dressed up hill billy. But for newbie creation it was pretty good.
Lets leave out the blue hair ...... bad choice for individuality lol

Second Skin Labs will do skins based on RL facial photos blended into a SS labs skin.

350 US? i think.

In creating an alt I found a place the will do skins based off photos. I can't recal it right now, but next time I'm on that Alt I will post it here.
