I want the earth to shake, a split in the crust to form, lava spitting fire into the sky . . .lava rocks flying everywhere. . . one of the rocks cools and splits open, and reveals me . . .a wave of music sweeps upwards and I twirl . . as I twirl I am clothed . . . all of this occurring lightening quick.

I'm new. I've never "poofed", my jewelry, the very rare times I wear it, does not have bling. I have attachments but that is normally my hair (and collar). None of the attachments, unless I'm missing something, have bling. There was a newbie hair I liked when I first started, but I couldn't get that bling out of it, so I quickly put something else on. Since then I do not recall anything I've worn that involved bling.

So you are correct. When I first started I had one piece of bling in my hair. I hated it, and did not intend for it to be there. And quickly removed it. So, I guess I "aged" in the couple of minutes it took me to go from "newbie with bling"; to "I hate everything and everyone, especially if they have bling. stupid newbies; holier than thou"

I arrived just after P2P TP came in, I think. Yeah ... it definitely was much easier rezzing things ... then there was the period when nothing at all rezzed. These days I rarely have problems but that's due to a faster PC and better connection.

I rather liked Infohubs. I can only imagine SL seems a lot more instant gratification if you are new to it these days. Might explain why people turn up here and seem to think SL owes them something and that they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Maybe I could find one that makes me disappear like Porky Pig in a circle at the end of the cartoons stuttering "ttthat's all folks!"

That'd be super cool...especially if it included Porky's exit line...and maybe the Loony Tunes opening music for the arrival.

Maybe I need to make myself another Av just to do this...are pigs considered "Furries" technically? Do they have fur or just bristles? Would anyone talk to me? Or would I have to worry about being eaten?

Pigs are mammals. Mammals have fur. Therefore a pig is a Furry.

Out of curiosity, can you summon attachments to coincide with an exit or entrance?

I've got the perfect one for you, Mike. Picture this:

Arrival: Your disembodied arm appears. As other parts appear, the arm, later joined by its mate, assembles them into you.

Departure: A heavily reinforced metal recycling bin appears. Your avatar dives in. The lid closes, and closes, and closes (the bin is a metal compactor). The bin tilts and disgorges a compressed cube de robot, then vanishes, leaving the cube behind.
(at this point, you have actually teleported). Over the next 30 seconds or so, the cube rusts away to nothing.

Alternate departure: A large bucket appears, attached to a rope going up into the sky. You disassemble yourself, placing the parts in the bucket. Finally, the arm gives the bucket's rope a tug, and the whole mess is winched up and out of sight.

Ha ha...that's a fantastic idea--if only if it were possible. Very clever.

If I had an idea better than your's, I'd share it...unfortunately I don't.

Could anyone post a location where some of these cool tp animations can be got? I especially like the coming out of a hole in the ground one, but others would be cool to check out.

Actually, I've seen a teleporter that reduces you to your attachments and "teleports" your attachments - and you see "yourself" moving. It is point-to-point teleporting over a short distance.

The circle of light and coffin sound like Kitten Lulu's Teleport Effects HUD...it has a bunch of other options too.

Yes...but Mike...pardon me, I mean "Mr. Michael Android Bigwig, Esq.", is ALL attachments, so it would have very little effect.

The strange thing is that I'll eat bacon and ham, but do not really like pork. There's one for ya - using different words determines if I'll eat something or not.
