Despite the obvious laugh factor ( lol) this can be pretty bad. A new person came into the hangout the other night and she was having problems with this glitch. She received entirely the wrong impression of someone and only after going into um... a bit more detail than I was comfortable with did it finally dissolve into giggle fits.
The guy in question had no idea what we were talking about and was getting pretty irate about it. I only managed to help her because I had problems with the same thing earlier in the week.
It all ended up in a lot of hilarity but it did get a bit hairy there for a moment.

I know some guys really get hung up on having something in their pants and I figure its manhood thing. I never quite understood it because I am eunuch in second life and real life well we won't go there.
Do the male avatars really needs something in his pants without the prims to avoid this issue? Why isn't there more penis tattoos alternative? is it because they look strange? Or is there and I just don't know about it?
Truthfully as guy I wouldn't want the embarrassment of prim attachment worn in public. I have seen to many have things fall out of their pants when they shouldn't have.

I most certainly *could* be ARed for walking around a PG area with it hanging out, and this is what worries me - that those of us who aren't using Windlight (the majority, I suspect) aren't necessarily aware that Windlight viewers can see what we've chosen to make invisible. I'm very badly behaved in the privacy of my own home (or someone else's, by consent), but I'm very well behaved in public. I would be pretty annoyed to get banned because Windlight users assume I'm some kind of monstrous pervert going round flashing in PG areas.

john carmack would find a solution, and if he could not find one he would create one. even if it involved locking the dev team in the lab for the next month and rewriting every last line of code. and nobody would be allowed to go out for lattes either.

I have no idea why this amuses me so.

If any of you wear prim eyelashes, face lights, hair with partially alpha textured prims, flexi objects with alpha (skirts, etc.), carry weapons, have embedded pose balls, builds using alpha textures, etc - this will affect you or the way those around you using Windlight will see you. It's a pretty big deal outside of the amusement of wearing scripted genitals that are no longer hidden.

So…*snerk* let me get this straight…you didn’t care when you knew anyone with highlight transparent on could see your hidden junk but you do care that anyone using the WindLight client and viewing at a distance could possibly see your hidden junk? Even though WindLight has been out for months and this is the first time anyone has noticed this groovy new Highlight Junk Feature? If you were willing to be providing entertainment at your own expense before I just don’t follow the logic that makes this a trauma now…..

This poorly implemented "feature" was implemented only in the latest WL viewer and most people only see the issues with shaders off.

You weren't to know Fayruz. For all you knew it could have been a very well known glitch that everyone knew about. Hell, I was the one telling you it was a glitch, I had no idea that it was a 'feature' that no one knew about lol.
I still think until this is sorted it may be a good idea for people to detach rudie or ARable items until this feature has been removed. Either that or prepare to be given a lot of stick if you venture into public PG areas.
