Why is my chest sudenly so strange?

I still don't really see what the problem is with the breasts in particular. The whole body and face is in shadows. As others have said, play with your graphic settings in 'Preferences', set your day to anything other than noon, and wear a facelight if you wish.

This morning, my husband looked over at my computer at the image. His first comment is, "That's a mesh error shining through. The face is a mesh error too."

Before the OP takes it personal, that means that whoever did the avatar mesh did do it quite to standard, so even on high end settings, the avatar never looks fully smooth. Some of that might unavoidable (due to the slider ability), but the rest can be fixed with a new avatar mesh. You're going to have some wonky shading/highlights off the form because of it.

Come to think of it, I don't think they've changed the avatar mesh since they opened back in 2003. That's one outdated mesh!

lol - it's possible you did, and if so I most certainly deserved it. But honestly, I was just joshing there. I don't remember you ever calling me that, and I don't remember ever cursing at 2k. If I did, I'm sure he had it coming.

It should be added that linn never experienced this problem before and suddenly she has a light patch where there wasn't one before, on all skins worn. It's not that there's something on another clothing layer that's not being properly removed that's causing it as a transparent texture on all layers doesn't remove it. I can understand the annoyance as she took a long time perfecting her skin.

Maybe some before pictures would help.

I think it's possible that we're now four pages into this thread and nobody is exactly sure what the hell we're actually talking about. Admittedly, this bit of human anatomy is not my strong suit, so it's perhaps not surprising that I for one don't see what we're supposed to be looking at.

The story so far:

There's a light patch somewhere on this chest.
The light patch shows on all skins worn by this avatar.
Everybody who looks at the avatar sees the light patch.
The light patch wasn't there before.
The light patch isn't caused by lighting conditions (as far as we know).

So here are my suggestions.

First, get rid of that hair and never wear it again. Admittedly, that has nothing to do with the problem at hand (unless the hair has a light source), but that hair is not going to help anybody's appearance. Who ya gonna trust about hairdressing, yourself, or a gay guy?

Second, try a different shape. Heck, try Advanced / Character / Character Tests / Test Female. (That's Ruth's ugly stepsister.) See if she has a light patch, too.

Third, recruit a friend or an alt who doesn't have the light patch, visit a good skin store, and both buy and try the identical demo skin. Now, who has a light patch?

Fourth, since they're your skins anyway, make a copy and give it to the friend/alt from step 3. Does she catch the leprosy too?
