Child av---illegal?

So is a child av illegal?

I was thinking of making one, but I was going to edit the skin to show no 'naughty bits' so that there was no way that it could be consrtued as age play... but are child avs actually just ouright illegal?

Child avatars are not illegal under current TOS or CS. You *can* run afoul if you opt t perform sexual actions with said avatar.

You'll find, too, that the major skin sellers for child avatars (Robin Sojourner, etc.) sell skins for kids, without the "naughty bits."

No, not illegal. But, be prepared for all sorts of people telling you that you're twisted, perverted and immoral. You'll probably get AR'd a few times, too.

I've seen people walking around naked with just their appendages showing and also as a small dog that seemingly humped a ladys leg. So a child shouldn't be a problem.

Depends on the resident, I could care less what 2 adults do to each other. Not mu business or worry!
However Child Avatars doing the "nasty" or sex with each other is against the Terms of Service. You could end up with a suspension or worse.

Has anyone ever been threatened with prosecution for drawing Bart or Lisa in the Simpsons? Child avatars should be allowed - there are various perfectly innocent reasons why somebody might want one e.g. as a character in a story based on SL screenshots, or simply because they want to be a child in SL. As long as the intentions and behaviour are innocent and not any form of sexual 'ageplay' I can't see the problem.

Child avatars are legal, but some places will ask you not to use them. The problem is that as a child avatar, you could suddenly do something sexual any time, and those around you would (in some countries) become legally responsible for downloading simulated child porn if you did. Of course, probably you would never do this, but there are griefers out there who would, and they can tell lies too.

This would be the paranoid approach to looking at Child Avatars.

Since there would be nothing stopping an adult avatar from suddenly transforming to a child AV and doing something sexual either.

If you follow strict logic yes, but in reality things don't work that way.

On a train, I would be reluctant to sit next to a man with a large, sharp knife drawn. By that logic I should be afraid of sitting next to anyone, because anyone might draw a knife. But my brain doesn't work that way and I'm sure yours doesn't either.

If you know someone has AR'd your child av merely for being a child av, and the av has done nothing compromising, AR the sick jerk for harrassment.

It would not surprise me if LL were getting tired of getting bullbleep ARs from these certifiable head cases.

BTW, I tend to see a point to people barring child avs from the sorts of adult sites kids would be barred from in RL. From my point of view, tolerant though I am, I'd feel pretty funny seeing an apparent 8-year-old watching the poledancers at Elements or walking into a BDSM palace. And for the kid av, it strikes me as a natural extension of the RP of being a child av!
