So thats how the ignore list works Oh, I didn't mean imply that you were the ignorable one. It's just a useful tool to curtail my tendency to get sucked into circular arguments. |

yes, my custom houses to sell for that because he and I build together, so they are OUR custom houses. And anyway, who freakin cares, you're just looking to carry out the argument..unfortunately, I hate it so bad when ppl start arguments for no reason. I asked a question, oh, and let me just beg your forgiveness for not including all the unnessesary details that had nothing to do with what I was asking about. Get a life, really...well I guess I need to get one too cuz I'm still here arguing back. Seriously tho, why does it matter that I said I built them? he needed advice and it doesn't matter who did it or who did whatever, the question would still have been the same, and the answers I got and what I learned were relayed back to him. That's all that matters. Quit just trying to argue for the sake of arguing and read the whole thread before you make accusations. I'll admit when I'm wrong, and I did, as you can clearly see above if you jsut hit that little utton that says "first page" and go from there As it stands now, we really don't know who is to blame, if anyone. We weren't there. What we do know is that something happened, but we don't know exactly what. We also know that what you wrote wasn't true, and there was one glaring omission later, but even those things don't mean that your side is in the wrong. What they do mean is that it isn't so easy to take you say at face value any more. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. _____________________

What amazes me is lack of customer service that some estate owners show. No matter how many times a resident has asked me silly stuff, over and over and over again, I always keep my advice and replies professional. I dont think I have ever used a bad word to a resident. How do these less-than-freindly estate owners ever keep enough residents on thier land to pull LL tier every month.
I feel for all the struggling residents out there that actually do take buying land in SL as they would in RL, I know some work several hours a day, just to earn enough to pay me the land fee's on thier plot. And when some troglodyte estate owner is so inconsiderate to do the Island-pump-and-dump just because they can, and screw the resident out of everything they worked for... thats beyond bad ethics, thats a bad soul. Now there have been times I have wanted to boot someone out, maybe for repeatedly breaking the simply spelt out covenants, or making constant -hits- on me. but when it comes down to it, I need them more than they need me, and reputation is whats going to carry those good estate owners thru the hard times...and 36500 for 4 weeks rent, WOW, I guess Im really underpriced! |

If I were to look into renting, there's a very, very short list of people (or their companies) I'd consider either renting from or taking advice on who to rent from. There are too many scammers to risk giving someone money to go with an unknown, and top that off with LL's "Sux 2 B U" policy. This isn't a plug, just basing this on what I've seen in other SL related forums. Good: Steve Mahfouz Raymond Figtree Sara Nerd Desmond Shang Admittedly, the number of scammers out there is probably a small percentage, but I'd still rather go with someone I've heard of. If we're naming names of good Sim Owners...I'll add Blake Dwi...who has 5 and is a really good guy... ![]() _____________________

Put me on ignore, Cranky Pants. But you know what? You are right. It's pointless to keep belaboring the "Where is the Moderator/We need a moderator" point. It's obvious mentioning it isn't going to do a damn thing. The playground is all yours. Cranky pants, huh? lol, funny. Oh, no. If I did that what would I do for fun then? This "playground" is big enough for everyone. It's just the 'we need to be looked after' that irks me. When the mod was here people complained of getting threads closed. Now that he's gone they're complaning he's not here. Isn't this right? |

As some of you may know, the island i managed offered free rent and free tier, so generally there was little expense for the residents on the island. also they were all clearly told that one day they would be asked to leave, the shortest stay was just over a week, because they were 3 friends who were complete idiots and kept returning each others stuff in arguments as well as the SIMs stuff which they were told three times 'NEVER return this'. Generally most residents had the land for a minimum of 2 months. So basically everything is cut and dry, we give everything to you for free on the understanding that eventually you will be asked to leave.
When the time came you'd be very surprised at the amount of abuse I got about being unfair, not having any rights to make them leave etc. One guy was absent for nearly two months and only responded each time I said he would have to go, first time he said he had RL problems so I let him stay another month, still inactive, so I asked him to clean his land for it to be taken back, no response, so I gave him a date when his stuff would be returned. The day comes and we return his stuff, while we are there a guy turns up and says "what the f*ck you doing sending all my stuff back to me", the guy who we gave the land out to was only sub-letting it to someone else, which was also not allowed. So the moral of this tale is that no you can't ever decide who is a good landlord and who isn't based on one side of the story. |

Does anyone but me notice that, when a thread reaches 4 to 6 pages, it turns into stuff that has nothing to do with the original thread?

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

To OP if you can earn 30k a house you build. Just save up for your own land and tier that you get directly from Linden Labs and then you can do what you want.
Save yourself the headaches. Use the Sandboxes or make a friend who share some prims until then. 36k seems bit high for only 60 prims. You can find better deals out there. _____________________

After all, $30,000L's is about $100US (very roughly)...1/4 sim tier to LL is $75US a month...so, one sale a month, after tier, is $25US profit a month...not a bad bit of business... _____________________

Does anyone but me notice that, when a thread reaches 4 to 6 pages, it turns into stuff that has nothing to do with the original thread? Ah I have a theory on this. People don't want to read through 4 pages or more of posts so they go to the last page and pick up on a point there because they don't want to discuss something that has already been discussed! Alternatively, it's like Chinese whispers. |
