From: Marianne McCann First question should be "have you used Second Life for more than a month," or someting like it. Something better than the "male or female" question anyway! Like, maybe: - do you normally use a humanoid form? - does your form have a gender? If so, which gender? - how would you best classify your form: -- A: purely human -- B: mostly-human (neko, etc) -- C: prim-based humaniod (prim-heavy furries, etc) -- 4: supernatural humanoid (demons, etc) -- 6: furnature or jello -- 7: quad animal -- L: pie-shaped (and tastes like pie!) -- M: other

From: buffy Tiratzo This would really help me with my uni project if any of you would take the time to enlighten me on the secondlife world! I know you've probably been asked to do loads of these but if you can take the time id be grateful! Questionnaire for Second Life • Are you male or female? Who are you asking? The SL avatar, or the RL person operating it? • How old are you? 18-25 25-35 35-50 50+ See the answer above. • When did you join Second life? 2007 • How often do you come onto Second life, on a weekly basis? once a week, twice a week, 3 times a week plus. This is a poor way to phrase it. I log into the SL environment several times a week. • On average how much money do you spend monthly on Second life? Between $10-$15 $15-$25 $25-$35 $35-$45 $45-65 $65+ 17.95USD • How much of that monthly average is spent on clothes? zero • Do you buy all your clothes from the “local” clothes shops? What do you mean by "local"? We teleport everywhere. "local" has no relevance. • How much would you spend on a top from a “local” clothe shop? As much as it cost, if I wanted it. • Have you heard of American Apparel in Second life? No. Nor anywhere else. What is it? • Have you ever bought clothes from American Apparel in Second Life? No. • Have you been to the Nike store in Second life? No. • Have you bought anything from Nike in Second life? No. Nor anywhere else. • Would you buy clothes from other premium brands in Second life? Define "premium". • How much would you spend on a top from a premium brand in Second life? Define "premium". Your questionnaire is deeply flawed and cannot produce any useful data. You have failed to phrase your questions in a manner suited to the survey population, and have also failed to define your terms sufficiently that participants will understand the questions in the same way. You don't know enough about Second Life to do research about marketing. If you did, you wouldn't be spamming the forums. Oh, and learn how to operate common grammar and punctuation! Pointless exclamation marks are unprofessional!

Since so many people in education or brand research or whatever want to do questionnaires for SL resident I don't answer unless they're willing to pay for it. I think the going rate is usually about 100 L$. If your ever willing to put that up for my time in answering let me know otherwise I'll stick with the ones that actually pay.

From: buffy Tiratzo Thankyou for answering, i dont mean to offend anyone by putting up a questionnaire so i dont expect to have slghtly offensive responses. Yes i have examined the second life website and figures but i wanted to generate some specific answers to questions that you cant find the answers on the actual website. i want my replies to come from the users. I am aware lots of people have put questionnaires on but they dont all answer the specific questions i need to know. Basically if you dont wish to answer my questionnaire then dont bother leaving a ranting message instead. I have spent a few hours in the second life world but do have trouble getting grips to it. Im sorry if i give the impression of treating you like 'lab rats' but its only because i am obviously unfamiliar with the whole concept so am asking you nicely for feedback. Thanks again to anyone taking my questionnaire seriously i am grateful. Punctuation and capitalization make you look like a grown-up.

From: buffy Tiratzo This would really help me with my uni project if any of you would take the time to enlighten me on the secondlife world! I know you've probably been asked to do loads of these but if you can take the time id be grateful! Gosh, these get tiring, but maybe if we answer publicly, someone will actually use the information for a change. Questionnaire for Second Life • Are you male or female? Female • How old are you? 18-25 25-35 35-50 50+ Yes • When did you join Second life? June, 2007 • How often do you come onto Second life, on a weekly basis? once a week, twice a week, 3 times a week plus. Plus plus plus • On average how much money do you spend monthly on Second life? Between $10-$15 $15-$25 $25-$35 $35-$45 $45-65 $65+ I own two sims and miscellaneous stores. I pay for the sims outside of SL, so roughly $365USD. The stores and rental properties on the sims usually pay for my purchases in-world. • How much of that monthly average is spent on clothes? None. • Do you buy all your clothes from the “local” clothes shops? As opposed to what?? • How much would you spend on a top from a “local” clothe shop? Up to and including 150L • Have you heard of American Apparel in Second life? Yes • Have you ever bought clothes from American Apparel in Second Life? No • Have you been to the Nike store in Second life? No • Have you bought anything from Nike in Second life? No • Would you buy clothes from other premium brands in Second life? Maybe - depends on whether they had something I wanted. • How much would you spend on a top from a premium brand in Second life? The same up to and including 150L, if it was something I wanted. Being a premium brand doesn't make one iota of difference to me.

From: Pserendipity Daniels I couldn't get past the first question, since I am a lesbian trapped in a male body, and that isn't one of the options. Pep (Works for me) Now it all makes sense!!
