decided to answer the original question of this thread, and answer it seriously (not voting though)
If I were having an alt party, I would first find a place to have it, and either hire a DJ or DJ it myself
then I would advertise it in events as well as the events section of the website.
I would tell my friends about it via im
I would promote it as exactly what it is, a party for folks to come to as their alt
there would be no prizes, it would just simply be a party

HOPEFULY this thread may turn out to be a kind, and gentle thread after all! So please everyone, lets let what was said in the past be just that, and remain in the past. After all we are into a new week, and in the present, and this is the week of the alt party, which as most of you have noticed by now, I am very much looking forward to...Yeahhhhh! BTW... My advice to Claire or Stormy, please list the alt party event under events in this website...please! It's not too late to do so...
