I confess, I didn't read the article (never played COH online although I seem to recall the desktop game was fun) but to me that is worse than the griefing. Griefing in game is one thing (up to the point it costs someone real stress or real money) but griefing someone's life is a whole other level-up, pardon the game parlance. Reading the article, there is no evidence anyone actually tried to find is RW identity or address. There was one player told him 'if you keep this up I am going to kill you for real', but if someone is being repeatedly griefed that is not an unreasonable reaction and almost certainly not meant for real. The article later says he doesn't thing people really meant it (even though he plays it up, and the article plays it up further). His conclusions are nuts or deliberately misleading to sell his book. If someone goes into any society and knowingly acts in an anti-social way, they will run into problems and for good reason. It may be fun for someone to wander about being annoying or worse, but that does not mean it is fun for anyone else. When that happens, laws get invoked, or written and then invoked. Of course if it is just a single incident, many will just shrug it off, but was repeated, constant disruption is another matter. |

Choose preview image instead of completing the upload. Edit and upload image then choose preview image in the little box that is the best ansewr its what i do now um i was drunk and meant to make this a new thread lmao _____________________

place to spend money without worries and test uploads == Beta grid edit:beta is off? hm, how about tyring one of those clients that allow temp uploading of images? webdev software not doing what you want, learn html and use notepad or somthing  i'm makin clothes not writin a book _____________________

i'm makin clothes not writin a book Just upload image and choose preview then choose the correct category. I think it's like shirt, top, pants, or maybe the body part of the av it goes on. It's in the drop down menu in the upload window itself. _____________________

It's in the drop down menu in the upload window itself. that works sorta caws all the older previewrshavedumpy mail bodies, but any of them and sl's upload tools worx for the femaole bod _____________________

Ah okay. I think there is something called AV Painter that previews too but I am not sure if it is within SL or outside of it.

outside if it is what I think ti is It lets people see what (clothing) they made on a mannequin, basically, and they can turn it to see it from different angles. _____________________

Once in Aditi all uploads charges are deducted from the BetaBucks you have and are not charged to your SL balance. The items uploaded and created there, stay in Beta. [What goes on in Beta, Stays in Beta  ]_____________________

has it ever happened that a wallet or ATM or whatever device allowed people to steal money from the money holder service because it didn't checked if the money was transfered in the main and not the beta grid?

Not following this, but if you are asking if money can be stolen in Beta and moved to Main Grid, the answer is no. However, a compromised account can lose money on either grid. The Beta grid assets including money only exist on the Aditi Grid. _____________________

I'm tlaking about those devices you pay and they send money to an avatar that holds the money for you, like for shopping websites (and in the past things like banks and such), they communicate with an external database to update your balance with the service, if the system doesn't verify the transfer happened in the beta grid instead of the main grid, then you would be able to use deposit free money and then later on the main grid or on the external websites, get access to the credit without having really given any of your own true money first

I think I once did, quite some time ago, but the version of the wallet device thing I had on the beta grid was outdated and wouldn't let me use it until I updated it, and I forgot to try again after the next beta grid refresh happened, I think it was back when SL Boutique still existed...
