From: Kay Penberg But do people recognise the gesture in the way you intend it? An excellent point. It is a very conversational gesture, but not as obvious as a typing gesture. I think I will go back to using one of those amusing-floating-steampunk-computer attachments like Argent has...I have one somewhere in inventory.

From: Dytska Vieria I don't mind the typing animation, but the nod that happens after you are finished typing has got to go! Oh, yes; I hate that too.

From: Naz Fride BTW, MystiTool's radar puts a "T" next to the name of a typing avatar. That's useful to know. But don't radars cause lag problems in crowded areas?

From: Phil Deakins typing /me is typing causes..
Phil Deakins is typing
to be shown in everyone's chat box. The /me bit is replaced by your name. That's what I thought it was supposed to do. But when I try it I just get: Kay Penberg: /me Is this something I need to activate, like other gestures?

Do you already have a gesture that uses "/me" a a trigger?

From: Kay Penberg That's useful to know. But don't radars cause lag problems in crowded areas? I recently got Estate Manager rights on a sim, and I've been playing with Top Scripts. I had written my scanner to be low lag, and now I can see how much script time it actually uses, it seems I didn't do too badly. The really high script time avatars are the ones with dozens (or even hundreds) of idle scripts in their no-mod resizable hair and flappy wings. Regarding the gestures, look for one that uses / as a trigger.

From: Kay Penberg That's useful to know. But don't radars cause lag problems in crowded areas? Sure, any scripted object will. Lots of crowded sims actually have MystiTool detectors, that send me a little blue box asking me (politely) to please put my MystiTool to sleep (or not), and I always do. If I need the radar, though, I can always turn it back on.

Wait, so how do we add a typing overrider to our existing AO's? I would like to keep typing. And where can I find one? Or am I missing a point here?

I am not sure if ZHAO has the possibilities to add on a typing gesture. To customize an AO took too much time for me, so I just bough one. I use the Oracul Pure Lady AO, it has a single-handed typing animation and no nod at the end.

Sure...in the ZHAO notecard, add [ TYPING ] followed by the name of the gesture.

From: Kay Penberg That's another new on to me. What are Top Scripts? It's an Estate tool that only Estate owners and managers get access to. It lets you see a list of the scripts with the highest instantaneous script usage.

From: Kay Penberg Oh, yes; I hate that too. /me laughs. See, different strokes.......I think the 'nod-nod' is cute. It looks like I am absolutely positive about what I just typed, 'yes-yes!'

It's astonishing what can be done with scripts. I had no idea radars could be detected. I have noticed that the Grendel's Children store gives a note card which, among other things, asks that radars be turned off. Not surprising, I guess; it has always been a laggy place to navigate every time I've been there. Wonderful stuff though.

I've just tried the /me again, and it does work. Either there was a glitch before, or I just wasn't using it properly. Sorry about that

From: Treasure Ballinger See, different strokes. True, true. But it reminds me of Noddy, the Enid Blyton character. Not that I have anything against him, and I unashamedly admit I still like the books. But I don't want to be him
