So she wasn't a rock...
She was a rock rock rock lobster! *sings*
Not having been there, I don't claim to know the 'real' story. The concept that a monster story could have been used to embellish the dangers of a particularly rocky shoal makes to me though...
Or she could just have been another attractive woman distracting sex starved sailors from their work, but wasn't there already the siren myth to cover that? And wasn't that myth already used elsewhere in the writings?

From: Patasha Marikh That would be both bizarre and unenforceable. Like making vampires only log on after dark or something. That's a great idea! The system could check to see whether it's dark in the timezone of your IP address. The vampire can only log in if it's dark where they are, and they can only visit sims that are also dark. Or, maybe rather than darkness IRL, it should just check the Environment (daytime) of the sim they are visiting. The main problem with that is that the sim owner can just turn on "Midday" which would immediately kill the vampires. Rather than just forcibly teleporting the vampire home, it could actually lock out their account for a few days when they die, so they can recharge in their coffins. LOL

From: Jig Chippewa Yeah, all dogs have gotta be licensed and be tagged. Same goes for those cats. And remember, PLEASE spay or neuter your pets!

From: Feldspar Millgrove And remember, PLEASE spay or neuter your pets! Well.. since in SL you cannot truely reproduce, only adopt, isn't that sort of pre-done?

From: donwolfani Doghouse somewher I saw mention of a new policy that is supposed to make all furry avatar The new policy is that all cats and nekos must have cat or neko tails, and not horse or fox tails. It will be enforced by me and a giant pair of wooling sheers.

Drives me bananas when I am trying to find decent Dragon art. Too many artists "go with what they know" and draw all manner of human/mammal bits on Dragons/reptiles. I mean, some of the art is still "good", but the subject matter is just .. wrong; to me, anyway. >.>

From: Katheryne Helendale In that case, give me a bee license. A license? For your pet bee? Named Eric? You are a loony.

You are a loony. Look, if you intend by that utilization of an obscure colloquialism to imply that my sanity is not up to scratch, or indeed to deny the semi-existence of my little chum Eric the Half-Bee, I shall have to ask you to listen to this! Take it away, Eric the orchestra leader...
