So many are now on Emerald.

Downloaded the Emerald Viewer and gosh realy surprised how many of you using it.
Approx. 50% of the Tags are Green.
It appears to have lots of additions over the Linden Viewers, many I personaly do not understand, remember I'm a blonde girl.
Asking others questions on these additions appears to be users do not know much more than me.
One thing in common though all using the boobie bounce add on, and at least the girls know it as to be activated. Seems to be able to see the feature on the girls the boys have to activate it as well. and they not know this, LOL.

Do we think Linden will be concerned about loosing out on their Viewer useage?
Do we think Linden will copy this new popular feature?

First, turning on breast physics does not mean that your breasts bounce, it means everyone's breasts bounce on your screen. It seems to be a point of confusion to a lot of people.

LL is surely looking at what is popular with 3rd party viewers, like the worn items tab, but given the fact that they are trying to PG the world as much as possible it is a sure bet that breast physics will never be included with an official LL viewer.

Also, regarding the bouncing boobies -- there is a bug right now, so do NOT go into Edit Appearance with that Effects option turned on or your Shape may be permanently lost in the database. Based on what seems to cause the problem, if your shape is modifiable, turn the jiggles off, then Edit Appearance and immediately do a "Save As" on your Shape and give it a new name (my-shape-backup).

This situation should be embarrassing for Linden Lab. Most likely the senior execs don't even know much less care. When is tee time?

Was that LL fiddling (in that BL sim set to only 20 avatars allowed so it wouldn't crash) while the burning man burned?

They did that with 2 of the 4 sims, whereas the other 2 had 40 avatars.

I'm using it and loving every moment of it.

1. Built in AO. No more hud for that!

2. Avatar radar, which I set to "in chat range," so.. don't need the Mystitool for that one.

3. Okay, I do like the bouncy boobs.

4. Asset Browser. Only problem with it is that it just search under the selected folders. Or at least it doesn't for me. But if it did, it could very well replace the texture sorters.

5. SKINS!!! This has more skins to chose from, so if the colors of the base annoying, just look until you find one that doesn't.

Performance for me is on par with the Snowglobe in the rezzing and FPS, which is fantastic as far as I'm concerned, what with the goodies that Emerald comes with.

I came and left from the latest Emerald. The FPS has vastly improved since I last ran it and the client side AO is a great idea... But...

I don't care about the paranoia plugins. All that mess with Show Look At, the radar, de-friend notification, and such just gives me more information than I want to know. And, I weep for the person who feels the "need" to gather all that information about their surroundings. (=_=)

The AO is a great idea... If it worked. Yes, I know how to set the animations and the notecard and I got it to walk, pose, run, and fly just fine. But, I don't run a sit pose. I like chairs to have their own. But, I've found that if I sit on a poseless chair (the kind I use 90% of the time) animations get seriously borked. (=_=)

BLING! Yes, I'm saying it... Those stupid looking customized select particle trails are just bling. Friends don't let friends bling. In fact, I like the ~other~ feature... The ability to turn ALL selection trails off. Happy clean screen for me at the time. (^_^)

RLVa... What the heck is RLVa? What does the "a" stand for and why do most compatible RLV attachments break when running in RLVa? Guh... FAIL! (>_<

Client tag ID. Yet another "Cool Kids" option, like select train bling. I didn't like all the distracting and oversized green nametags with (Emerald) as if it's a secret sorority handshake. I get the feeling people get a little 'beam' or pride when they see that they're in the "in" crowd with their green tags on that the l4m3rz don't have. =^-^=

Plus.. Since Boy Land did a new compile of Cool Viewer with full Adult additions, even less lag, and RLV 1.22... I went back to that client. (^_^)y

Do you mean that you can't see your own bounce? From what I've understood in the other threads, people do see their own bounce. That doesn't mean that I've understood correctly though.

You can see yours bounce. You can see everyone's bounce.

That's what I'd understood (even though I failed to see it on my alt). Rhonda's post seemed to say differently but, again, I may have misunderstood what she meant.

I don't give a crap about bouncy boobs; in RL I would kill to have those nice anti-gravity, NON-bouncing anime boobs, so why would I want them to flop around in SL? Owww!

And this latest version of Emerald seems to be less stable for me, with many crashes, which is a real disappointment because I don't normally crash in any other viewer. I will downgrade to the previous release until that is fixed.

However, Emerald has some features that I really like, such as double click to TP, turn off TP loading screen, fly on TP, more preset prim shapes in the edit window, sliders in the land tools, lots of user created Windlight settings pre-loaded, etc.

I haven't tested the "mirror" feature, that seems to be a way to backup your scripts, but it looks useful. I was excited about the AO, but since I couldn't easily toggle it off and on short of dragging a new config notecard into it and reloading it, will wait for the improved AO.

Have to agree with Immy, I find the paranoia features a waste of time and resources, especially the IM encryption garbage that comes up all the time even if neither I nor the other user have it enabled. I don't care if people look at what I'm wearing, and I'm not discussing government secrets in IM. Go ahead, look at me, read my IM's... you will probably die of boredom.

As to the OP's question, since LL is now apparently wanting to regulate alternative viewers more heavily, I suspect they won't integrate any of these features. It would take too much time away from their blogging.

The bouncing breast controls are client side, and determine if boobs jiggle on your own viewer. They don't determine if your breasts bounce on other people's viewers.

There's a bug in the breast bounce code that makes it not always display your avatar's boobs jiggling, even though other avatar's might on your screen.

Plus there's a shape-losing bug which I'm just now seeing is said to be associated with the meandering mammaries code.

Yeah. As I read the blog, though, you have to have breast jiggle turned on while you change or edit your shape, and that even then the problem rarely occurs.

This is the part that has me confused. There were comments in another thread that said the shape loss was because the jiggle code was dynamically changing your gravity definition of your shape. However, that makes no sense as far as me seeing others bounce.

I'm sort of with Immy. In preparation for having a more SL capable machine soon, I've been looking at the various viewers , especially at Emerald, since it is the rage right now. There's just too many gadgets on it that really don't interest me, I doubt I would use it. I do think it's great that they are pushing the envelope feature wise, if anything maybe it will get LL to think a bit more creatively.

I've become a big devotee of Boy Lane's work. The CV 1.19 I use is excellent, and I see no reason not to use her more current viewers when the time comes.

I've been using Emerald a lot recently and have found it good until I've been logged in for an hour or two, when it starts to freeze up intermittently, getting worse and worse until it crashes.

If people don't report bugs then things can't get fixed .

I really dont "need" bouncing boobies but I doooo very much like the temp upload option and the building features.

The show look at, or point at whatever... since you can alt click a spot on the floor and cam till your hearts content and perv cam anyone near this feature is a bit misleading.
and frankly it gets a bit ugly when you are in a large group.
Have not tried the AO thing though... I certainly would love to get rid of some clutter on screen.

Almost certainly a memory leak. Does it happen with 1.23.5 as well, do you know?
