Question about banning

Tonight I went over to check my mainland parcel and found 2 people in my bed. Never saw them before in my life. Pissed me off. I used my Mysti to tp them home and then banned them from my land. I assume they got in by using the sit trick, as the doors are locked. Neither are new, both from 2007. The guy who owns most of the rest of the sim was online, he rents places there. No sooner had I banned them, they returned, to the house across the way and continuted to get busy. So I IM'd the rental house owner and told him; he went over and banned them from his tenant's home. THEY CAME RIGHT BACK!!! A 3rd time. This time to one of the few parcels that is abandoned and nobody owns it. Persistant. Anyway my question is: If someone is banned from your land, can they sidestep the banning with the sit trick?

Next time, start rating their performance before banning them. Might discourage a return performance ;)

Or take over the bed and change positions for them. Switching the male and female poseballs.

They can sidestep it, I had someone banned who sent me a picture of them on the parcel, after the banning. This happened about a week ago LOL. Tricksy little bugger. An estate banning is probably the only sure way to make sure they don't come back....on that AV anyway.

Well, that's not likely to happen, it's mainland, parcel banning only. Sigh. I get it, about 'on that AV, anyway'. But on the same AV? The picture the person sent you was the same av you banned?

most items allow you to set them so only you or a group can use them. Take a look and see if the items have this ability then they cant use them. Other thing to do is use a security system so boot those you do not allow on you land

A side question. Is there a limit to how high banning a named av works?

Ban lines for a named avatar used to go up to 768.
It is possible that L didn't alter this when they raised the build height limit.

I don't know of any exploits for an avatar to get past ban lines.
It is possible to have an animation that makes an avatar appear to be other than where they actually are. Think of dance animations. The name tag stays where the rendering of the avatar is actually 'standing' - the rendering of the avatar can be away doing acrobatics.

The funniest deterrent to repeat visits is to substitute poseballs/animations when you are away.
The perps click on the bed/balls and get deformed or put into humiliating poses.
..... although that might be an attraction for some!

I feel so very sorry for you, that must be a real drama to see other people have fun in your bed

I dunno. While I am normally happy to let others play with my toys, I think it's only good manners for them to ask me first, particularly if I have indicated -- by placing them in a locked area -- that they aren't there as public amenities.

Let me guess. You're one of those "everything in SL should be free" people - right?

I swear I thought this thread was titled 'question about banging'.... :o

I don't understand why so many people in SL think it's okay to be on someone else's property. When I use to have furnished rentals, you wouldn't believe how many times I caught people. You wouldn't go into someone's home in RL without permission, why do it in SL?

Personally I favour the "lifitng the house off them" route , so they are exposed to all & sundry..then freezing them in place...toy with them a little while...then estate ban...~ahhhh heady days~~~

I prefer to heckle, holding up score cards, and possibly giving a critique on the quality of their performance, constructive criticism to improve their *ahem* sincerity. Then I politely thank them for allowing me to record their.. performance.. so I can train other couples in what not to do.

If I'm really not in the mood to do that, set the land to damage and send them out with a bang.

When they start kicking in Lindens to help pay for the land, they can have all the fun they want. I don't do freeloaders and leeches. Pay your own way, buy your own bed, put it on your own land that you pay for.

Hate to do that because you have to name who is allowed on the land. I don't have a problem with people coming on my land, but screwing in my bed, yeah, I do, it just feels wrong, nasty, want to change the sheets now. For example, couple weeks ago, I got a message from my visitor counter that Chris Norse was on my land. I knew exactly why he was there, he was looking at the land that was abandoned, right next door to me. I wouldn't have wanted a security device to kick him off just because I hadn't put his name in it. Too many innocent people come by for security devices on a busy sim, I just don't want to do that.

And won't somebody think of the flying avs and vehicles! No, no, can't do a security device, LOL.

I took the bed out of my house because someone was so obvious about using it when I wasn't there. It's not as though it would take an effort to leave things the way they found them.

The thing that bugged me the most was that they always left my door open.

I wish they'd been in IM, but no chance, they were all out in local chat talking about oooooh I love your sexxehs! ooooh I love your hot, wet.................give me a damn break, go love it somewhere else.

And even though they weren't new, they must not have been paying attention to, or wearing radar because they didn't say a word about me walking right up on them.

One of them was saying "give me damn break" and "go love it elsewhere"? A minute later and they'd have been gone :D

Chris' idea of messing with the poseballs, combined with a scorecard on their texting, would definitely have been funny here.
