Banned without A warning

Hello all thanks for reading this ,,any comments would be great !! I was at a place of business and had bought an outfit for 300 L!!!! there was lucky chairs so i grabbed a few Freebees,,, when all of a sudden,, without warning,, i was gone and banned with no warning,, first time I have ever been banned.... I talked in a instant messages to 3 of the girls i met in there,,, and they couldnt believe it either !!! so I looked at my transaction and figured who banned me ....I sent her a message asking why???? and told her i have never been so insulted in my life (((im kinda new in sl i have been here since january this year ,,but never started coming here untill june I think,,, she tells me that i was leaving things and trashing up her property ,,,and she has low prims .,.,. she said im sending the stuff back to you,,, and im like,, what stuff is it ???? she could not answer !!!!also there was nothing sent back to my lost and found ,,,,, so heres what I think happened ,,,I had bought some halloween rats that follow you ,,,like 5 of them and they jus follow you around,,,I do know they rez,, but they dont trash up your place// or at least i have been told they dont /// and if what she says is true then i should have recieved something in my lost and found ,,,, and besides i have been at a silk place for 5 days and they never said a word about having my rats run around every one luvs them ,,, and it so odd she has a halloween place also ,, wierd,,,,, i know after 1 or 2 minutes it sends your empty boxes back to you if you dont take them or delete them at the silks place,,, but has never sent a rat back ,,, i have the snakes and spiders too ////Im not sure why this girl did this too me ???? I asked for my 300 back and she wouldnt even say nothing back ,,, probally muted me // but for a store owner,, and to have that attitude ,, it jus burns me up thinking there is people like that in SECOND LIFE and i cant even say who they are,, cause of slander// ha,,, i have every thing copyied and what she did and said to me is all there in black and white,, so its not like im making it up ,,,,I left another site ,,kinda like this one ,, i have over 800 friends there and probally as many here,,, or more //but i tell you people like her make sl an ugly place i have spent probally more than most people do here and to get treated like this is unacceptable Lotta

It is hard when something like that happens, especially when youre relatively new...however...it is kinda messy leaving boxes etc in other peoples stores..why not just pick them up and not wait for them to be sent back?

If everyone who bought something in a store left boxes & bags laying around..imagine the mess and the prim usage for the owner? The store owner could set it so no one can rez anything i know.but i REALLY love buying something and being able to unpack it straight away...and try it on etc..so i dont abuse that *priviledge* and pick up my empties after me. Plus a lot fo store owners go to the time and expense of making their places look really ritzy...i doubt theyd love the trash left laying around, it sort of ruins the ambience doesnt it?

As for your following creatures..if youre wearing them as an item, sure they wont count on her prims..but..if like the freebie animals ive seen you have to rez them on the floor and then they follow...some are horrendously high in prims, and DO count against the land . Might be best when your shopping to leave that sort of thing at home or whatever..

Chin up...some days you run into some people that cant be bothered to explain or assist...others you do !! and dont forget...PICK UP YOUR TRASH!! and be a good shopper lol

Don't be so sensitive. The owner made a mistake. You probably weren't cluttering her place up at all.

OK. It was rude to ban you without a word of explanation, but maybe the poor girl has been getting a lot of grief and hassle recently. Be forgiving. Don't be insulted by every incident.

There was no reason to ask for your money back unless the outfit was defective.




BTW, a little punctuation would have made your post so much easier to read.

Don't let one experience colour your the rest of your Second Life, Lotta. It's a big world out there. Chalk this one up to the store owner having a bad day, and simply move on. There's plenty more to see out there. Yes, you'll probably have other bad experiences in the future - we all have them from time to time - but in my view the good almost always outweighs the bad.

Regardless of what problem the shop owner have, its is very rude to ban ppl without even checking out first.

She should be given a chance to experience how it feels to be ban right on the spot without warning. Its not something u like.

If she don't have much prim left and still want to allow her customer to rez. She can set auto return with a short duration (depending on her shop's traffic).

I wouldnt take it too personally. There is a very good chance she was seeing items being left behind. I had experienced a problem a while back with my region at one time. Where users hair shoes and other Multi linked objects we left on the land. Some of them i was able to find and some i was not. I was confused as to what was going on since those users did not have permissions to even place objects on the land. Some instances they were leaving upto 200+ prims on the land. i did ban one person out of confusion and the fact i was never able to find the objects. I eventually started snooping harder as the problem persisted. I was returning hair shoes and other items from many of my regular guests. Then i started asking the regs questions of why they are leaving things behind. I then told them i was returning the items . and Asked her to identify the items for me. After returning the items she said she never got the items in her lost and found, and never seen any returned objects messages. I was then able to determine this was a bug in the software. Unfortunately LL has not been able to repro this since i had reported it In the JIRA. However several lindens were able to confirm this was happening. I was able to use and alt and rez objects from the wrong group and So Was Concierge.. This really sounds a lot like that bug to me.
She just made a mistake because what she was seeing on her hind was probably true... Unfortunately bugs can be a bad thing for some guests and result in an unwarranted ban

in a somewhat related matter, I found a prim box hanging in the air in my shop yesterday. Your name is familiar, maybe it was one of your rats lol...I didn't ban whoever it was but I did check my land permissions and found everything checked...object creation by all, object entry by all...and I KNOW that this is not how I left it. So it seems like SL's land permissions went wonkey and someone left me a plywood cube. I just returned it, but it there had been more than one I would have looked at it as a grief and might just have banned the person myself.

Don't worry about this, my English teacher in high school pointed out that when people correct spelling and english outside of english class,that it is motivated by there inability to understand and compile ideas,in other word they are afraid they might miss something and look foolish so to make sure they don't look bad first they point out the spelling errors (I have amended this to exclude those that work in print and when making proposals)

In the 25 years since then, I have found this generally to be a very true statement.hell you can program a computer to spell and do basic grammar checks so it's not an indication of intelligences just the opposite really,a computer will happily factor out the square root of 2 or 22/7 and just keep kicking numbers out until you tell it to stop and thats pretty dumb.

As Einstein pointed out you don't need to remember everything just where you put it.

On the thread itself, if I ever find someone's stuff on any of my land I just return it immediately without a note because these objects are most often left by newbies who never return. I check their profiles and they are usually sl's answer to "one-night stands" - here tonight and gone tomorrow.

After reading the responses, I then figured out what the original poster's problem was. First, a land owner has every right to ban anyone for any reason. If this is a case of mistaken identity, you can send the person a message asking, "Why did I just get ejected?"

Second: Don't demand your money back. You bought the outfit and probably like it. Demanding a refund because you were kicked out of the store is like demanding a refund on a whole meal because someone forgot to put ice in your drink. It's really a non issue.

Third: Don't take this the wrong way, but if you write out a long and thoughtful post (which I'm sure you did), nobody is going to be able to make any sense of it if you make it THAT hard to read.

Well I have to disagree I'm afraid. To an extent, any corrections I might offer are based on my inability to understand or comprehend what is being communicated - not from any fear of looking foolish, but certainly a concern that I might miss something and thus misunderstand the point being communicated.

I am not so crass as to think that everyone should have perfect written or spoken English (whatever "perfect" is!) - English is after all a working, growing language that readily adapts to the needs of the moment - witness just how many words we use everyday which have simply been appropriated from other languages; an generation on and no-one cares where the word came from except philologists.

All that said, poor spelling distracts me and, best will in the world, I find it difficult to get past. At the end of the day, it is the person originating the communication who has the responsibility to see that whatever it is they write or say is in a form acceptable to the person being communicated.

Yes I am surprised. LOL You need to understand that sloppy communication skills make it hard for people to read and understand what you are saying. That is irritating and will be reflected in how people respond to you, people may view you as lazy, inconsiderate and possibly stupid or intentionally offensive as a result of how you communicate.

The rats you rezz may follow you around but if they are not attached or worn by your avatar, they use up prims on the land you are visiting. The Owner probably saw your prims listed in her About Land window and banned you thinking you had left objects laying around. And when you were banned from her land the rats were probably left behind cluttering up the place.

You are not entitled to money back just because you did not like being banned. You got the product you purchased.

Seriously, a terse pointer to a grammar site like that is just plain rude. A polite comment that a post is difficult to read because of a lack of punctuation, or a request to put a bit more effort into punctuation or grammar, can be perfectly reasonable. Denigrating the motivation of people in general who ask for better grammar is just as bad, if not worse than the original rude note.

Amazing how one can pass judgment on another. Like they are gods gift to life. Like passing judgment on a new person who doesn't quite have the money for a nice skin. Like in Real life . Passing judgment on someone because of their misfortunes in life.
What amazes me is the ones passing judgment can't function correctly without punctuation. I can read most typing easily with or without. I sure am not going to judge a person because of their poor typing skills . And the fact while typing the OP was seriously angry and upset. (Another key factor in badly spelled words and missing punctuation)
Heh if you can function reading and writing both ways then I see that as a better skill and abilty to communicate against all odds.
Life is about respecting one another. Not holding your self as the higher being. Because we are all human and not one person here is perfect.

Having standards is not holding one's self to be a higher being. This forum is a place where we communicate with the written word. Asking a poster to use common courtesy and follow a few rules of the written language is well within the scope of things.

I don't have perfect grammar or spelling, I don't expect anyone to be perfect. But using capital letters when needed, paragraphs, periods and an attempt at spelling correctly are far short of being perfect.

Typing while angry or upset? Don't do it. It saves many headaches in the long run.

As for respect, a wall of text that gives other readers headaches shows a lack of respect on the lazy poster's part.
