I think it has a lot to do with certain people's feelings of inadequacy and powerlessness around the opposite gender - deep seated issues with lack of control. It also may be a function of being raised in a day and age when a profound disrespect for women is tolerated and even encouraged in popular culture. If music and pop culture justify a certain behavior and you get someone who has had poor role models and a lot of rejection from women in real life, and maybe has control issues, then you have the makings for a virtual pimp. I'm not saying the OP has those issues, but who knows what his background is. He might just be play-acting, or he might be really young and not mature enough to realize the potential for hurting other people that SL has. Just my opinion. I'm not a psychologist, though. I'm just pretty good at figuring people out. Ever heard of "Just for fun"? |

Ever heard of "Just for fun"? Never heard of such a thing. Everything I do in Second Life is absolutely serious and in no way fun. I'm all about business, commerce and leading a very staid and serious existence without the intrusion of humor or enjoyability. I don't actually know of anyone who does anything in Second Life just for fun. _____________________

Often the joke about pimps is that they are gay, women haters in first place and often are butt pirates on the side in certain circles. Most dress very flamboyantly,etc or ones from the 1970s Pimps and if nothing else if they weren't gay were the first Metrosexuals.. Actualy the way pimps dressed back then was "in" |

Good luck! On a serious note, I'm not sure how pimping is going to be profitable or how it would work at all, based on the earlier posts in this thread. I think your best bet is to let freelance escorts work out of a club you create and supply them with rooms for a price - you're making money off of the room rentals there, not the actual "pimpage", but I think that's your only realistic option. See Lindal's post at the top of page 2. _____________________

I can't quite figure how you are going to make money unless the chick is quite dense. Although technically they are cyber pimps - Most don't call themselves that. And often those running the escort venues are also Escorts. So more a case of being Madams than Pimps. On a side note - Like any other club, most of these Lose money rather than earn it. Its a pretty big challenge to just break even with any entertainment type service in SL, let alone turn a decent profit. |
