When I was in there some guys said he got his money from a whore house he had. Is that possible to be a pimp in second life? Can you even have any kind of sex in the game? because if you can then thats going to be my next job

Yes, there are 'pimps' but I think they're mostly thought of as teen grid escapees and MTV wannabes. The ones I've seen are pretty lame, to be honest.

Yeah, about half the clubs out there seem to double as cathouses. I don't quite understand the point of SL pimping but it's there. I also didn't understand why some random SL guy offered to work as my bodyguard this morning, but there are probably some employed ones out there too for who knows what reasons.

It's probably possible, but why? Some sort of role play? You aren't going to make much money at it, if any, and at best, you'll just make people dislike you. At worst, you'll be inviting all sorts of griefing and distress. Why don't you just make some friends, get a legit job or better yet, learn how to create stuff you can sell - it's much better money, and it will serve you better in the future.

Maybe what your friend meant is that instead of "pimping" per se, he had a club with rooms that he let escorts use for a cost - he was sort of running a motel of sorts, but not the actual escort business. Most good escorts have their own places, but there are plenty of them hanging out in clubs like that, so when a guy in the club picks them up, they rent a room.

That's the only way I could see someone making money in any way that is even close to "pimping".

They might give you more for living up to it.

You can run a brothel...the polite term for this is "Club Owner", not "pimp". The role is quite a bit different, too.

A club owner hires dancers and escorts to work at his club. They are generally not paid, but work for tips. (Dancers, anyway. Escorts will generally negotiate a price with the client and get paid before providing service.) The owner may take a small percentage of the tips, or may make his money with a separate "donations" jar for the club as a whole.

Your club must provide a pleasing venue for people to come and mingle. The owner may have events and contests, such as "Best in Lingerie", "Best In Black", etc, with prizes to encourage attendance. A good DJ is a must. If your club is one that provides escorts, it's a good idea to also provide some upstairs rooms, or maybe Paradise Blankets (a sort of instant skybox) to give the girls a place to entertain clients.

Aside from this, you may choose to dress the part of a pimp. Just wear a broad-brimmed hat, a pinstriped suit, and a whole lot of blinging jewelry.

You can also own a girl, or several. But this is a case of being the Master in a dominant/submissive relationship. There are elements of the pimp/whore dynamic here, in that you control your sub(s). I suppose you could require your sub to have sex with other people, and turn over the money to you. (Note: Yes, I'm aware that the sub always has the option to refuse a command. No one can "really" force anyone to do anything they don't consent to in SL.) The traditional pimp, the fellow who you meet on the street and who negotiates a transaction between you and one of his girls, is not a factor in SL...although streetwalking escorts can be easily found, they are working for themselves.
