From: Conan Godwin As near as possible. Just saying, it would work is all.
You could also build walls round different areas and have different races live there - then they never need to see each other. Problem solved. How high would those walls have to be? And how many separate areas would they need?

I decided to try and make my own back bacon (I think it's what you call "canadian style" bacon in America - it's made from the loin of the pig; the back muscle). I cure my own streaky bacon (from the belly - I think that' what Americans think of as just normal bacon) at the moment - 7 days dry curing normally, so it's more like an Italian pancetta than an English/American style bacon, which would only be cured for 3 or 4 days. But to make it worth while curing my own back bacon, I need a slicer. Check this one out and tell me what you think of it; Oh, and you'd need two sections of walled area btw; one labelled "US" and one labelled "THEM".

From: Yosef Okelly /me checkes the threads pulse. Blood preassure is down, pulse is slow and weak and breathing is labored. I don't think this thread has much life left in her. Cry for our loss, but don't cry for the thread. She had a good life. She was strong runner and a real champion at heart. There is lots of hope. The Doctors are all over this:

For American-style bacon, you need to smoke it as well. If it's not smoked, it's not bacon. Canadian bacon is pretty good, and that slicer should make short work of it.

I'm so confused. I had to look up what Canadian Bacon is. This in the Wiki,
"What the US terms Canadian bacon is actually back bacon rolled in cornmeal. In Canada it is called peameal bacon."
Peameal Bacon? WTH is that? I always assumed back bacon was that slice of rubber in a McDonald's Egg McMuffin. This has me curious enough to go to the butcher's tonight for a (hopefully free) sample.
The things you learn on forums...
