Yay Jer! I was thinking the same thing, Eli. But these *are* desperate times. Thanks. ![]() I didn't think anything too nefarious either. But in the back of my mind was the worry of being acquired by a company with a history of sending jobs overseas. Especially since I knew that a new logo was coming. _____________________

Especially since I knew that a new logo was coming. A new logo? That should sort out any financial woes due to the economic downturn! _____________________

That might seem cute to you, but it doesn't translate. I can't understand why you believe you have impunity, and why you think that what you say has no social consequences. ![]() It's those that *don't* realise there are consequences, or are stupid enough to disregard those consequences, and who provoke me anyway, that you should be directing your comments towards. ![]() Pep (Do you mean "immunity"? "Impunity" doesn't translate. ![]() _____________________

Clover, Lil, and Mahlia - I just want to say how glad I am that you are all well and here with us.
... Kind of seems like one of those long road trips when my kids were really young: "mom, he touched me", "she looked at me", "did not", "did too", "you are a dork", "well you have cooties".................. ![]() Well, yeah, that would work. My son and step son used to call me on the phone at work and say 'He breathed on me, make him stop'. (Stop what, breathing???? ) When I lived in the UK, back in the olden days when the place was full of Mods and Rockers, they didn't have hot dogs, Vienna sausages, or really much else that was like USA food. What we called biscuits they called scones and what they called biscuits we called cookies or crackers. They had breakfast sausages that were like ours, but a bit less spicy and with a bit more cereal in them. For parties they wrapped these things in what we call puff pastry and baked them. I think that was called a sausage roll? They were very tasty. I think it's possible that they did sometimes wrap them in regular pie-crust pastry and call them pigs-in-blankets. It seems to me that when I was young here in So Cal people baked hot dog pieces wrapped in regular pie-crust and called them pigs-in-blankets. And only started using biscuit (similar to not sweet scones) dough when that became available ready made in cardboard tubes from the Pillsbury company. Yes I really am that old. I hope this clears everything up for everyone. _____________________

It's those WHO *don't* realise there are consequences, or are stupid enough to disregard those consequences, and who provoke me anyway, WHOM you should be directing your comments towards. Another thing about living in the UK - everyone there was kind enough to treat it as my right to hold my knife and fork in the American way while eating and also to spell things in the American way. Just as it is considered proper over here for Europeans to use their own style. _____________________

Would you like a lecture on how the letter "z" was not included in the classic Latin alphabet and consequently English words that have Latin roots (such as "re" ![]() Pep (I know it's probably over your head, but others might be interested.) I find this kind of stuff interesting, could do without the added insults, but the quips of trivia you post from time to time, interest me. I dunno where you store all this info, but hell, I don't care either, I just find it interesting when some of it spills out ![]() but then again, I think I said something similar quite awhile ago *shrug* So, yes, at least one does find it interesting. _____________________
