Some of you know that he has been tinkering around with other objects now and then, and had created a sundial once before. He never intended to sell that, but several people wanted it, so he did. This one is rather elaborate and actually does some interesting things when midnight approaches which are worth seeing. Because of this, he thought people might be interested to come over tonight and see what happens when the clock strikes 12 Well, midnight or thereabouts according to SLT - I can never quite figure these things out lol. If you aren't doing anything around 7pmSLT and want to pop over to his place, please come by. We'd love to see you - it's been a while for one thing and secondly, he's pleased as can be at what he accomplished with this bit of garden decor (truthfully - it's like a little light show, and really lovely). Just don't be late, or you'll miss it! IM me or Ghosty in world for the SLURL if interested. I have't been there all week or I'd just have it at hand. I'm pretty sure it's listed in the calendar here online too, if you're motivated to look. See you later perhaps. How did it go? _____________________ |

It's often set out as a buffet. However, that looks like tea, so: _____________________ |

| Skell Dagger Smitten Join date: 26 Jun 2007 Posts: 1,885 | 08-02-2009 05:18 Maureen, today's breakfast took me back to a lot of great holidays I've had, so thanks for that. And if that's hot apple tea (a speciality in Turkey) then I'll take it. Everyone else can have the coffee (Turkish coffee, though it tastes great and has a hell of a kick, has a habit of containing sludgy dregs at the bottom) _____________________ It always ends in chickens... | Elora Lunasea Mrs. Llama Join date: 28 Aug 2007 Posts: 4,828 | 08-02-2009 06:16 How did it go? First, lovely breakfast and I want that egg holder. I've been searching high and low for ones which suit me - I don't want just a plain looking cup and that one is just lovely. Wish I knew what kind of china it was. Anyhoo, it went off well, although the sun set a bit late so anticipation was high. He got rave reviews for his creation and everyone thinks he's selling it for way too low a price considering what it does and the work he put into it. But, he believes that this is SL, not RL and things should be reasonable, not outlandishly priced. The most amusing thing was after most people left, 3 griefers showed up Lexxi was still there with a friend of her (cute tiny kitty in an alligator costume, AnnLee I think? No, something similar). He/she had just arrived and these griefer showed up a few moments later. Screaming and shrieking, mumbling some obsenities and the female one stood there clapping. The usual adolescent stuff. However, Ghosty was trying to ban and eject them and his pie menu was greyed out for some reason. I, crashed just as this was happening so I was of no use helping get rid of them. When I got back, they had gone. I checked MY pie menu and I also had these items greyed out. WTF? A few moments later, they appeared. Is there some issue with this we are not aware of? It really sucked that he couldn't get rid of them quickly although he did enjoy toying with them verbally for a while And of course, thanks to all who showed up! _____________________ eloralunasea.blogspot.com Have you hugged a llama today? |

| Elora Lunasea Mrs. Llama Join date: 28 Aug 2007 Posts: 4,828 | 08-02-2009 06:34 @ Amara - Ghosty has it out on his "Back Porch" which is where other items he has are for sale. I'll send you the landmark when I'm in world later (breakfast is more important right now - bagels and lox ). I think, for some reason it may not drop you exactly on the porch where it is, so just walk up until you find it. It will be very obvious (the sundial lol). You may want to time viewing it, to the sunset if possible, so that you can see what it does. Sometimes, sunset in SL is late, so be patient. Last night, it was about 2 minutes late if I remember correctly. The sundial is scripted to this - does not work by the avatar touching it. So at sunset, it will activate and do it's thing - during other hours it's a lovely piece of garden sculpture, like the other one. If you aren't sure about the timing, you can always ask Ghosty and I know he'll be happy to give you a private viewing. Any specific questions you have, contact him too. EDIT: Ghosty just told me he moved the sundial to the garden, Maya Sabha. You can view it there. Again, I'll drop landmark on you although it is on his and my "Picks" if you want to go over sooner. Not sure if you can purchase it from the garden area (he didn't want the garden to feel like a store in any way, shape or form) but he did create a "box" which is on the porch; it is shaped like a sun, bright yellow, I think it also had a blue diamond on it. _____________________ eloralunasea.blogspot.com Have you hugged a llama today? |

| Joshooah Lovenkraft Just Joshin' Join date: 28 Dec 2007 Posts: 1,376 | 08-02-2009 07:58 Since you guys always talk about breakfast in this thread, I made blueberry pancakes this morning and they were yummy so I'll share! Here's the basic recipe I always use. Just say NO to boxed mixes! Joshooah's Blueberry Pancakes Ingredients * 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour * 1 tbsp baking powder * 1 pinch of salt * 1 tbsp sugar * 2 large eggs, beaten * 2 tbsp butter, melted and cooled * 1 ⅓ cups milk * butter for frying * blueberries Mix all your dry ingredients well. Mix up all your wet ingredients. Pour your wet into your dry and mix until incorporated but don't worry too much about small lumps as I like let my batter sit for a few minutes since over mixing can make for tough pancakes. Log into Second Life and catch up with IMs while the batter is sitting. After 15 minutes, set avatar on busy and give the batter a few stirs before you start frying them on a medium pan with melted butter. I like to add my blueberries after the batter has gone into the pan rather than adding it to the actual batter. You can dot them nicely and make happy faces and stuff. Give them a flip as the edges harden and you can see small bubbles in the middle. I prefer to make little pancakes rather than huge ones and it will make enough to probably feed four. The nice thing is these will freeze well and you can just pop them into your toaster oven on a busy weekday morning. Serve with butter and warmed up maple syrup (hates cold syrup on pancakes) and extra blueberries or fruit. Enjoy while reading the forums and tping around SL. Warning: do not get syrup on your keyboard or mouse. _____________________ Hello Avatard - Your Emporium of Fun Stuff In-world: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Fordham/178/19/63 Xstreet: https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=103499 |

I cannot WAIT to hear about today's session with Gowron and and and the one with MR. SPOCK !!!!! He he..maybe I should have started a blog. The shows producer was saying that they tried really hard to get some of the new movie's cast to appear, but none were available although definitely interested. Also, they were really trying to get both Patrick Stewart and Whoopi, but again, both weren't available. Whoopi doesn't fly, so getting her to appear would be a major coup since it is local for her, and Stewart is doing Shakespeare right now in England. He was definitely keen on the idea to appear with Whoopi. I've already planned on going to next year's convention in Vegas, 4 days, 70 guests. I also talked t some of the volunteers, and might volunteer to help out on next year's show here. _____________________ Don't you ever try to look behind my eyes. Today I made egg-salad sandwiches for breakfast- It's Sunday- anything goes! Four hard- but not solid hard- eggs; a table spoon of mayo, sweet basil, and a sprinkling of truffle oil. Spread on lightly toasted bread and munch! We keep on hand tubes of various herbs- better than dry and fresh always ends u going bad so ths is very nice alternative.
