Reading your quick history, it must be bittersweet. Nonetheless, congratulations for getting out while you can! Any thoughts on your next theme? Something different? I don't know...my immediate thought is to just build a small, cozy place by the water, somewhere there's enough water for sailing. But if another big project presents itself, several ideas are kicking around the back of my head. Barsoom. A cave system to replace the much-missed Secret Reflections sim. An airport. A City of Robots. An Arabian Nights palace. _____________________

Good morning, Threadies! ![]() Today we travel to Japan. ![]() I'm told this that a traditional Japanese breakfast consists of rice, miso soup, poached egg, pickled vegetables, salad, cooked fish, and nori. ![]() |

The feed em and f**k you luncheon
04-30-2009 09:50
Ok, theft of my lasagna the other day has been redeemed. My job today is giving pink slips to ones that are being laid off. So in a sign of goodwill, they had lunch catered and welcomed former layed-off employees for lunch too. Menu: chicken alfredo, lasagna, tossed salad, bread, chocolote and lemon bars. Love me some lemon bars.
The food came from an authentic italian restaurant and not someone like Fazoli's. I'm in lasagna and lemon bar heaven. _____________________

I do not remember when the homelessness started. Seems like it has been forever now.

Maybe she got to give a pink slip to the thief? I think it's just that she finally gets to have some lasagna. |

Maybe she got to give a pink slip to the thief? Oh, it does say "my job". I was reading that as her company was, but it could be read as "my job [for] today", which is almost what was written. _____________________

Good morning Threadies, Rain this morning ![]() I went to see The Color Purple play last night. It was great. I have never seen the movie nor read the book. Everytime I tell someone black I haven't, they tell me I need to give up my negro and NAACP card. @Treasure, No I haven't seen the movie, it would've made me too mad and have evil thoughts of doing something at my then husband at the time. Shoot I was getting mad just watching the very diluted version from the play. I was mad at anything with 3 legs. Made me want to wear my "I HATE MEN" t-shirt. LOL. ... As for The Color Purple I read it when it first came out and I didn't know what I was getting into. Then it was so beautifully written and so moving in many ways that I loved it in spite of all the pain depicted. (Plus I wasn't having any problems with men at the time.) When I went to see the movie I was afraid that like a lot of movies it wouldn't be as good as the book - but I was pleasantly surprised. I can understand that seeing it as a play would be a good way to go because it's easier to remember it is just pretend and stop yourself from getting too carried away emotionally. _____________________

Oh, it does say "my job". I was reading that as her company was, but it could be read as "my job [for] today", which is almost what was written. Ok, I meant to say my place of employment. Yes, I just wanted some lasagna and was very disappointed when mine was taken. Especially since Janice's mother made it. She makes the best butter cookies. ![]() No its not me getting layed off. I'm bless to be on the profitable side on the company. But it does feel like to me that I am rl version of survivor. I haven't been voted off yet. _____________________

I do not remember when the homelessness started. Seems like it has been forever now. It's been about a month, perhaps? It still feels weird. While Lindal has happily unloaded, I'm itching to find a small 2048'ish size of mainland somewhere not hideous, at a reasonable price. Does anybody know of anything? _____________________

I never saw the movie "Clockwork Orange" because, although I liked the book a lot, I thought it would be too disturbing to see some of the scenes acted out. Loved the movie The Color Purple - definitely think the play would be neat. _____________________

I saw the Clockwork Orange too and for me it is one of those movies I have to watch again because I miss something evertything I see it. I saw it when I was much younger for the first time and the sexual part of it was weird. Then I got to see it several times again especially as I got older I came to understand it more.
Now when I see it, I look at the background sets and how cool some of them were. For example when they barged through the apartment its decor was so interesting to me. I never read the book, perhaps I will put that on my reading list too. _____________________
