LOLOLOLOL the hangout is brutal on my machine too, and it's a desktop.

I had my settings all the way up to take picture the other day and then went to the hangout. While I waited for it to all rez I walked the dog, had my car washed, and cooked a roast...in the crockpot.

I wouldn't be surprised if they return, now that the Mainland is going to be sanitized. But this time they'll be signs for Coca Cola, IBM, NIKE......

@3Ring - I didn't see where you originally posted about visiting your ill friend. Just wanted to say, although it's a difficult thing to visit someone potentially at the end of their life, it's also a gift you give them. Be strong, for them and for yourself. I've been in that situation several times, and can assure you that as time goes by, when you look back at this visit you'll be very happy you made the trip. For me, it was always a deeply moving experience. *big hugs*

I try really hard to not be political here. But I do express bewilderment at some the the bullet points listed.

One or two maybe. But otherwise not a bad summary in my opinion.

It's funny. During the previous regime the opposition, particularly Hilarity Rotten Clinton, hollered loud and hard how those in opposition were just as patriotic as anyone else, and had a right to express their dissatisfaction, and they were 1000% right. But now....it seems anyone who doesn't drink the kool aid is a radical, and devisive, and needs DOHs checking up on them.

According to Homeland Security, all single-issue voters, such as those concerned about abortion, or gun control, or illegal aliens, or gay marriage, are "right wing radicals" and are being considered a threat to national security. I'm dead serious, it was in an official report. Right-to-lifers are now right up there with the KKK.

It's amazing how liberals shout about "freedom of speech" until someone starts opposing them. Then it's personal attack time. Well, to be fair, it's not ONLY liberals. Lots of foolish people on both sides of the fence.

The Tea Party movement is impressive because it started from nothing. No political party, no professional spin doctors. Just a ground swell of people who have one thing in common: a shred of common sense that tells them we can't keep spending money we don't have and expect there to be no consequences down the road.

Basically how our country started.

I was deepley offended when I read that report, no I was disguisted and ashamed. While not advocating violent overthrow of the government, yet, political dissent, even at it's most strident has alway been one of our most cherished freedoms. And it has been eroded over the years, no one party can be blamed for it. But when it is from the Right everyone speaks out against it, the Left howl long and loud. But now there seems to be a spell cast over everyone. A lot of the things we all complained about over the last 8 years are still going on, some even more so, but almost no one seems to notice, those who do are labeled as radicals, as the Pres just smiles and reads his teleprompter and Comarde Pelosi and the Commissars on the Hill continue to dismantle our country.
