Good Morning everyone. I see the thread was active as ever last night! Tons and tons of youtube goodness.

This morning finds me in mixed emotions. I recieved sad news this morning. I play in a band on Sundays. Last evening, our sound engineer lost his fight with cancer. It wasn't completely unexpected, but he was expected to make it through the holidays.

@ Lexxi- There is one place that says Winter in Samhain or similar- this is from there:

(I'm such a ham!) Anyway- it is just gorgeous, there is a snow area with hidden caves, a wrecked viking ship, snowball toss at Gingerbread people- all kind of beautiful stuff -with lots of cuddles maybe your Mistress can join you? Then as you walk thru it you will find a, Door Into Summer - well, Spring really- but I couldn't help myself :) - that is where that picture was taken. A lovely garden with giant mushrooms and meditation poses- I have pix there too but have not uploaded to photobucket.
Edited: this is from there also:

BLEH!

I think I'm the only person who wouldnt mind working on Christmas Day! :)

Hah! I am sure there are lots of folks who feel the very same way, Tod. :)

And...often things get so nutty around any holiday, but especially these year-end ones...people lose sight of what they're all about, religious or otherwise.

I hope you're able to have some fun over the weekend. :)

Gah! I'm snowed in!
And the plow just went by and piled up a big plowberg at the end of my driveway. And the people who do the driveway when it's really bad are away!

/me weeps and gets out the shovel

Ack!! Sorry, Brann...please take care when shoveling that huge mound of snow...take your time...

I knew I'd seen that somewhere before lol.

Morning all!

Sidenote to Jerboa: So sorry for the loss of your friend. Never is a good time to lose someone dear, but this time of year particularly painful. *hugs*

Well, while looking utterly incompetent poking at the snow with my big shovel, a neighbour came along with his snowblower and dug me out.

The walks and steps were still a chore, but I couldn't have done this on my own. It's now raining and this stuff weighs a ton. Here's to hoping the roof won't cave!

*hugs to Jerboa*

(ssshhh. Don't tell Ann (or Sarah Nerd) that until I started in SL I don't think I'd ever heard of Nine Inch Nails...)

To be truthful, I was vaguely aware of them, but couldn't tell you who Trent was. I still haven't heard any of their music

I quit listening to a radio station that played them after my daughter, who was probably 11 or 12 at the time, started singing the unedited version of "Closer".

Here is my schmaltzy seasonal good wishes to everyone :)

Hope you all enjoy your holiday, whichever one it is you are celebrating. Thank you to each and everyone of you, for being part of my life - for brightening my days. This thread has become a part of my soul at this point and everyone who is here have touched me in one way or another (hey, get your dirty minds out of the gutter for one moment, ok?).

Special thankies to Maureen, Rioko, Lindal, Madhu and Jezebel (who may never have posted here or perhaps once but I love like a sister) - all of whom have been there for me at one time or another when I needed them. Maureen particularly - how I wish we lived nearby, although I think it could be dangerous if we did ;)

Ghosty and I will be having a quiet little day at home since neither of us celebrate Christmas (Jewish/Hindu). Could have gone up to see his parental units, but didn't feel like making the 2-1/2 hour trek back and forth in one day this time (if we were lucky). So, I will make one of my awe-inspiring dinners for us with excellent wine for me, his favorite beer and call it a day of movies and cuddle time while we try and plan what the heck we're doing for New Years

Merry merry everyone! Hugs and kisses all around!

I have actually come to enjoy the smaller quieter Christmas gatherings. My husband and I will do dinner and presents with my two children this evening - just the 4 of us and not a huge dinner, though hubby did go ahead and do a turkey on the smoker.
