For some reason, I am really having lots of fun being a pain in the ass out in those other threads.

Well there are some real winners in some of those threads. I was wondering how "I wonder" got translated into a statement of fact. And the explanation makes no sense either.

Now if you will kindly explain how you are named Boomer......... :p
It's more a designation than a name... born in 1945 along with a whole lot of other kids of returning G.I.'s

People sending out their holiday wishes reminded me to do mine:

For all those who celebrate it, I hope you had a fab Winter Solstice/Yule, and I hope everyone has a magical Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate :)
Lovely, thank you, Claire. Merry Yule to you.

And hubby has decided he definitely likes it when I fight with these fools here. He says I am more agreeable now.

I also recently downloaded the Irfanview package -- a freebie - to play with. Someone told me it did image stuff also.

Might be mentioned later.

I use Irafanview to change a batch of pictures quickly - naming/converting from one file type to another.

I use Gimp and Paint Shop Pro from photo cropping/editing.

Gimp and Irafanview are free. Paint Shop Pro has a free 30 day trial. I ended up getting it for some reason. It does some things Gimp doesn't do. And, oddly enough, I still use Gimp also as Gimp does some stuff Paint Pro doesn't do.

G'morning Thread (even though I'm gonna go ni ni soon)!

So, this weekend...

Well, lets go back a day or two before the weekend: I won a plot in the Holiday Marketplace. After two days of intense building on my part, Livingtree Outpost was born!

I designed it as a seaside outpost town, akin to Telegraph Cove, BC or Ketchikan, AK. Rustic, but still nice. I'm pretty happy with how it came out, for something as simple as it is. Those who've visited have also seemed to enjoy it.

On Friday, I was pleased to see that Livingtree proper was also added into the Winterfaire showcase, which made us all very happy. We spent a lot of time tryin' to make it a fun place, nd were a little worried that either the (admittedly, pretty soft-sell) commercial aspects of the sim, or the recent skin flap would prevent us from being included. But there we are, bright as day!

On Saturday, taking a break from all the building an stuff, we all went out on a toboggan. it was great... uh... fun. The drops were a bit scary at times, as you can see:

Finally, late Sunday night, a group of tinies happened upon the outpost and regaled us with holiday carols from the shire. That was one of those special, serendipitous (that's a word, right?) moments that makes SL all worth while. I'll remember that for *some* time to come.

An that's the weekend!

Hah! It's nice when an entrance sign is posted on the exit. :D

edit: of course, if I'd read further along in the thread, I'd have seen that Vamp had noticed it. :p

WTF is with damn near all of these groups lately having photo contests? I am constantly getting notecards about the latest and greatest way to win something in a group.

I know...it's driving me nuts. Maybe it's just because it's the holiday season

In addition...in RL, at this time of year, I receive outrageous amounts of junk mail from stores...it seems that is another trend that has made its way to SL!! :p

Cute! But I'm not sure...Ann, are you holding a silver spoon in your mouth, or a pipe?

Yay!!! The Mari Weekend Update came early today!!

Mari, thanks for reminding me about the Holiday Marketplace. The Livingtree Outpost looks fantastic.

We had such fun ice skating and snowmobiling and snowball fighting the other night when we were in Livingtree.

That pic of the Caroling Tinies!!!! Cute. Did they have tiny voices, too? :p

Thank you again for posting your great pics, Mari.
