/soapbox
In defense of Capitalism - it put us where we are regardless of how others try to crush us and bring us down. Capitalism does NOT go hand in hand with elitism and greed. People that believe they are better because a little more coinage are jackasses regardless of how one colors it- and I will take Capitalism against Socialism and Communism any day - back of my soapbox- carry on.

Careful Mo, that sort of question about the Winterfaire started a firestorm in another subforum!

Pep (Following Christmas tradition I shall be breaking into other residents' homes and stealing their stuff while they are out getting drunk, photocopying their butts and doing things they will later regret in the store cupboard)

My only goal this weekend is to find a santa's lap to sit on....er for my four year old to sit on.:p Need to get his picture taken with Santa, plus he needs to give him his list.:D It is so cool having a child in the house again around Christmas. He is so excited.(My oldest is 13 and he outgrew Santa at 9,well unless he wants something extremely overpriced then suddenly Santa is real again lol...)

Staying home this weekend. Maybe do a little Christmas shopping and go to the movies tomorrow. On Sunday it's the Santa Train with my niece and nephew.

Thanks :) Though I got a new computer instead of getting someone to fix it because I didn't want to drive an hour to Rockville. (that and it being an old laptop that melted, the 97$ probably would have bought me "it is dead and unfixable"; if not, well wanted a new computer anyway - tired of it crashing every night and overheating)

may i add to Kaimi's note - in life, those who touch us most are teachers, family and friends, and special people in our RL that most other people don't even know about.
I had a conselor at a summer camp like that. I will never forget what he said to me. "Once summer is over, always remember: This Never Happened."

A google for my name, returned 532,000 hits, not surprising since it is a common enough name. I found a couple of SLU comments, one JIRA vote I didn't even remember, and a couple of posts made here that were copied in a couple of blogs. That's it. However, I did also find tis, which was entertaining:

From: someone
Annie's Gift

Following is an excerpt.

Brenda Connolly sat at Kevin's table and took a healthy swallow of tea before she began her speech. “Now listen to me, Kevin. I learned a long time ago not to interfere and I'll not be starting now. But Lauren's a sweet thing, she is, and I won't have you destroying her life. Maybe she's the one and maybe she isn't, but God help us either way because she'll never be the same after you're through with her. And don't be denying what I'm saying, because you know very well what I'm talking about.” Brenda looked away after her outburst, a bit sheepish under Kevin's calm gaze.

Kevin picked up his carving of a doe and fawn and brushed some of the shavings onto the floor. The delicate figures seemed to come alive in his hands. “It sounds to me like you're interfering, Brenda.”

“I am not interfering.”

Kevin quirked an eyebrow at Brenda and shaved a curl of wood from the doe’s flank.

“All right, I'm interfering. I admit it.” Brenda laughed. “Ah, Kevin. What will we do with you? Just because she has some crystals and Rune stones doesn't mean anything, you know.”

“And she wears a medallion of St. Brigid.”

Brenda threw her hands in the air. “All right! And she's wearing a medallion with St. Brigid on it.”

Kevin grinned and went back to his work.

“Lord, Kevin. I saw you kiss her. You haven't even been introduced and you kiss the woman. Did you know she's married?” She clenched the mug, her knuckles white.

“I assumed that was a picture of her husband next to the bed.”

“And that didn't bother you? Will you be committing adultery now? Is that what the prophecy calls for?”

Kevin put down his carving. A flash of pain crossed his features. Before he could speak, Brenda moved to his side and put her arms around him. “Kevin, you know I love you. And I care about you. But there's something about Lauren that makes me want to protect her.”

Kevin walked over to the mantel above the fireplace and picked up a small book. He removed a piece of folded paper and returned to the table. “I don’t think you’ve ever seen this picture, Brenda. Annie drew it before she died.” He handed the paper to Brenda.

“Annie, your mother?” She unfolded the paper and laid it on the table in front of her. The watercolor portrayed a woman with blond hair and green eyes. A woman who bore a striking resemblance to Lauren.

Kevin grabbed Brenda’s hands. “She's the one I've been waiting for, Brenda. I felt it even before I saw her. Her energy beckoned to me and some force took over my body. I didn't mean to kiss her but I couldn’t stop myself.” He paused for a moment. “I’ve been waiting for such a long time.” He smiled, but conflict showed in his eyes.

Brenda stroked his handsome face and kissed his cheek. “I brought you some jam,” she said, moving toward the door. “I made it fresh yesterday.”

Her hand clutched the door handle when Kevin spoke. “Don't be sorry you came. You needed to tell me how you feel. You're always welcome to share your thoughts with me.”

She turned to face him. “Do you love her?”

He smiled a brilliant smile, even though he held something back. “I will.”

Brenda countered, “And will she love you?”

His eyes burned into hers for a moment. “She has to.”

Hehehe...Brenda. You're in a book. :D

So we're googling ourselves?

I only get my SLU profile, snapzilla, and everyone's flickr streams that I show up in. Before getting to the animal links.

Course that makes sense.

/me wanders out wondering why Jerboa Hastack was never the hero in a romance novel.....

Hmmm....

I have a house to finish up. Doors to hang, windows to align, furniture to place...

other than that....maybe romance the pants off of some (un)lucky lady?
ahem...figuratively speaking of course. ;)
