Hi, Threadies, frequent posters, and lurkers.

Today is a sad day. My employer designated all SL-related sites as "gaming related" and banned access to them.

Since I do most of my forum browsing and posting at work, this means that Lindal will not be around much anymore. I'll still try to check in once a day, but I like to spend my computer time at home in world, not on the forums.

It's been fun. It will continue to be fun...just not as often.

Keep the Thread alive, now...and Brenda? Now I'll never *snif* have a hope of catching up to your post count. The pressure's off.

/me smiles shakily and wanders off in search of strong drink.
I'll wait for you to catch up

It's not elitism. Ice neutralizes many of the aromas of Scotch. Er, I suppose putting it in the cheap stuff is good...

Might as well mix it with cola then . . .

Can you tell us who you work for Lindal, because if the time you obviously put into the forums is transferred to work effort your employer should be experiencing a counter-cyclical productivity increase and profits surge in the near future, and I'd like to buy some stock before the rest of the market realises!

Or since*I* decide what people can access in our workplace if you want to come and work for me . . . ;-)

Pep (Honestly, I didn't sneak on you! )

Oh Lin, that totally sucks! I'm a little nervous about the same thing happening 1/1. Our firm is merging with another firm, and I'm not sure what their policies are going to be :(

Holy Crap!

They just got around to doing that??? Several companies I did short-term contracts for, that gave us full Internet access always blocked SL along with the usual stuff.

The most I was able to view was Google, news sites & nature sites. Also they monitored our time spent "surfing" so you didnt want to be on for more than a minute or two.

A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and was on the verge of being burned out.
Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to change careers and become a mechanic.
He found out from the local technical college what was involved, signed up for
evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could.

When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised! to find that he had obtained a score of 150%.

Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wondered if there had been an error which needed adjusting."
The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark.
You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark."
The instructor went on to say, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did all of it through the muffler."

A waiter asks a man, “May I take your order, sir?”

“Yes,” the man replies. “I’m just wondering, exactly how do you prepare your chickens?”

“Nothing special, sir. We just tell them straight out that they’re going to die.”

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

TYVM. Play semi nice, kiddies. If you manage to finally blow up this place, try to mention me in it somehow. I'd hate to not have a part in it. TTFN.
