I promised this link from a earlier post today, a few images of Selavy Oh's Poetik Art Opening at Sintetika sim, this would be an amazing club, however the basic structure starts with approx 3000 prims + a lot of extras. http://flickr.com/photos/dekka_raymaker/3043314237/in/set-72157607145580662/Some other images here: http://flickr.com/photos/mylittleblackcloud/3044036824/in/set-72157604803836913/

So, I'm just going to vent a bit and say if nobody hears from Ghosty and I in the next few days it's because we're deep into the moving process now. Tomorrow, we'll be stuck at our new apartment, waiting for the gas company to decide which hour of the "8am to 4pm" slot they will show up at. We will be twiddling our thumbs there with no heat, no internet, no tv or telephone until they show up. Thankfully, electric is on so we'll have tunes and can even cook a meal if so inclined (doubtful, I think we'll call up for pizza ). Can't even really finish cleaning up until we have hot water and the place really needs it. Friday, the moving van comes to p/u stuff from our current digs and my old house. Who knows when they will show either? No word yet. We are at the mercy of everyone else's schedules. Weekend will be for unpacking/organizing. Monday, cable/phone/internet gets hooked up - and we are officially moving in - yay! Perhaps we'll be in touch then? Knowing us, we'll find a way to log on inbetween. Addicted, you know Hopefully, we will remain mentally intact and be in touch before Thanksgiving (so far, so good - for the most part). Oh and of course, this is not SL we're talking about here or it would be fun. This, is just STRESSFUL (albeit with a great payoff in the end!). Oh and we found out our apartment has an unusual history! Seems it was a "Swingers Club". No kidding. The old man who used to live there, apparently had a license to run it as a "restaurant". We found the most amazing things in there; trophies for best transgendered coming out persons, lists of who paid what to get into the club, business cards, a credit card machine (we're keeping that), pamplets on the rules of swinging and "No means No", pens inscribed with the club name, etc. The whole apartment is wired for sound (speakers were left for us!) and cabling runs everywhere. We suspect videos were being made in the bedroom (hehe) and perhaps viewed in the living area by the guests. We wondered why there was a small wood floor with a mirror between the living and dining area and finally realized it was a small dance floor, most likely (guess we'll have to make use for that lol). No I realize why the kitchen was so good in this apartment, probably they were cooking some little tidbits for the guests too (and I luck out, gourmound that I am). Oh and the best part? On our front door is a sign in latin which translates to: "If you don't swing, don't ring". It's apparently from the Playboy Mansion in Chicago! Too funny. We're leaving it there as a conversation piece and as part of the history of the place. Seems somehow appropriate that Ghosty and I should be the lucky recipient of this home, all things considered

Good luck with the moving. There are very few things I hate more than moving. Sounds like quite a place you found with a very colorful past.

From: Tex Nasworthy Good luck with the moving. There are very few things I hate more than moving. Sounds like quite a place you found with a very colorful past. You know, we were cleaning out the apartment to help the landlords rep and her workers (landlord himself is the son, and lives in Alabama). We didn't keep the trophies and now I regret it They really were a nice piece of history of the place, but we really couldn't think of a place to keep them, so in our haste to get things in order we just threw them on the "take out of the apartment" pile. Most likely, they are gone now. Guess we'll find out when we're there tomorrow...

From: Elora Lunasea <snip> Thinking of you and Ghosty, Elora. Hope all goes smoothly with the move and with all the various utilities hookups. I'll try to pay off the weather gods...looks like it's at least supposed to be mostly sunny on Friday... ZOMG!!! What outrageous and incredible tales your apartment could tell!!!! You should definitely hang onto those mementos. And use that dance floor!!!

Did you know Hugh Jackman's real surname was Jass but he changed it before he became famous?

The reason I made the SL comment in connection to the dance floor is that I for one never much cared for dancing til SL- I imagine if I had anyone in RL to dance with, I wd take up ballroom dance (Husband was shot out of a helicopter in Vietnam- dancing is not an option )

I'm not one for dancing either, other than to R&R type music. And neither is G although he has taken some dance lessons, surprisingly (before he met me). I think a lot of people - men and women alike, really love dancing in SL because we can all excel at it. Nobody looks like a dunce doing it. We did talk about possibly going out and taking lessons together - I think I'd really enjoy that a lot. We're pretty much the same height which would help but I do have a tendency to lead lol. (BTW, sorry to hear about your husbands limitations , but really proud that he served for us)

From: Ann Launay Meh. He's a good actor, but I don't find him particularly sexy. He'd be on my list, and is defintely a fine actor, but he wouldn't be topping the meter. I know who Annie likes, but she will have to fight me for him first.
