In the US odd and even house numbers are almost invariably on opposite sides of the street. We love charming quaint stuff like no. 10 and no. 11 Downing Street being next door to each other.

Spanakopita (Greek "σπανάκι + πίτα", spinach + pie) is a Greek pastry with a filling of spinach, feta cheese (sometimes in combination with ricotta cheese for value), green onions, egg, and seasoning. The filling is wrapped in layers of phyllo pastry with butter and/or olive oil, either in a large pan from which individual servings are cut, or rolled into individual triangular servings (see burek). Spanakopita is golden in color when baked.

It is mostly eaten as a snack in Greece, and it can be an alternative to tyropita.

ETA:: And most importantly, delicious

Thank you to all those who've welcomed me with open arms into the "Thread that just won't die" (Rio, Damien, Elora & Claire...) Indeed, Damien, it is the dark side.

I had avoided posting, thinking eventually it would just somehow quietly die off...however, I see that it's now an "institution", with great discussions on just about everything one can imagine.

So, alas, I am humbled by the Thread and must now bow down and submit to it's greatness.

I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's, and his hair was perfect.

And we totally missed out on having Cuban coffee when we were in Florida recently! Trout, I'm a couple hours south of you; can I talk you into a coffee meetup when you get your care package?

And to send out from the PNW: smoked salmon, hazelnuts, marionberry anything, pinot noir, and tillamook cheese.

Hmmm, I think I'll take the deep fried brownies instead. That sounds like it might be good for you.
