Federal? Uuummm hate to burst your bubble but don't you know... SL is a free for all. There are no laws in SL except for not gambling. Other then that, thats it. The gods are asleep at the wheel. Have been for some time now. You best defense is to hire a SL hit man.

See in order for something to be fixed, you need laws and to have them enforced. We do not have either in SL. Well some empty words but 0% enforcement unless of course it effects a Linden.

Or hire one of those SL "terrorists". Get a good elite one. The elites wear elite sashes which shows that they are terrorism school graduates.

Your best defense is to invest in a plot of land and make it griefer-safe. No push, no build, no prim entry from adjacent parcels.

YUP! Thats all they want. They want "you" to be Soooooo upset as to do things like post about it, so they show it to their friends how "cool" they were to mess with someone online. Then their friends come in. And the cycle continues.

We all hate griefers. They're the scum of the metaverse. But as others point out, there's not much to be done, given the anarchical nature of SL. Here's my personal escalating Griefer Response scale...

1. Do Nothing. Cultivate calm. Learn to be amused by their antics.
2. Sit on something. If they're pushy.
3. Mute the offender. Fun to watch them typing and typing and typing...
4. Go elsewhere. SL is a big place, you don't have to be where the griefer is.
5. Abuse Report them. Collect names, time, chat logs, any other particulars.

As a step 3a or 4a, you could also employ weapons against the griefer...cage them and/or orbit them. However, this lays you open to an AR from the griefer, which may be his goal. If you fight back, be sure to AR the incident, and be aware that you might still get a suspension.

I try not to be goaded beyond Step 3 unless the griefer starts assaulting the area with replicating prims (Particle anuses? Just wait until you're up to your nose in real ones!) or setting off nukes.

yea, although, i WOULD use weapons, but here is the thing, this happened in Garage, a no weapons, and i think they only came here becasue thye followed one of the racers who are in furnation, sadly, they think furries are "waaaaaa, leave us alone!" no, we said NOTHING!, and 3 hours later, they lost interest, they get no whining or complaining, they move on to the next target

Do NOT use Weapons against the griefer, There was another thread a few days ago demonstrating How well the AR Process DOES work when a person being griefed Used a Weapon against the griefer, The griefer ARed them the they were suspended Instead of the griefer.
It's What the griefer wanted, Do NOT Play their game.
AR, and get as many Witnesses as you can to add additional ARs at the same time, you WILL get action even if it isn't Immediate, or directly apparent to you (TOS states that LL will resolve the Issue, but they will NOT tell you what Punishment was used).
The rest of the Suggestions are Good ones, the MOST important one is, "Learn to Cultivate Calm" The griefers MOST of all Want a reaction, The Less reaction they get from all present, the faster they lose interest. If you don't feed their Infantile Need for Attention, they will cease troubling you.

As immature as it may be, it is not hacking. I think you have a strange idea of what hacking is.

It's hilarious for the griefers though.

They just don't take Second Life as seriously as others. You have to respect that and don't let it get to you. Part of the fun they take from greifing is seeing their victims get annoyed over something that they consider to be trivial. But rather than try to hide your annoyance with them, try not to be annoyed in the first place.
